db003 first try at making seeds

Since the pistols turned brown and recedes shortly after you Pollination, rest assured that plenty of seeds should be developing well in the interior of the buds. 4-5 weeks is all it takes for them to mature. If you're beginning to see swollen calyxes spitting out beans they've made it to the finish line.

thanks for the info

hey everyone its me db003

I watered my plants last night but was tired because I have been going bowling every day for the past few months with my mom and my nephew for the summer. so I am posting the update today these plants are in day #63 of flower as of today. I am aiming for day 70 or until ripe to be harvest day so about another week or so to wait.

I am trying to not let the fact that I have almost no bud left determine my harvest schedule lol and since this is a seed breeding project as well I want them to have as much time as possible to let the seeds develop.

I went to a anniversary special today at a local dispensary this morning and got a few good deals I picked up a few clones and a few grams of wax and got some cool goodies.

hey everyone one its me db003 and its my favorite time of the grow harvest time!

its the very end of day #69 of flower just before the lights go out and I have a ton of stuff to do so I decided to harvest these plants since I wont have the time to do it later today.

it been a long and crazy ride with these plants well for me at least and I still dont know how well the seeding project worked yet just have to wait for these plants to dry and inspect some buds to see how it turned out.

since this was my first time trying a seed breeding project I wanted to wait as long as I can to harvest the plant. the plant I took these clones from went 70 days in flower to be harvested so I made sure to harvest these on day 70.

to sum it up I took three clones from the same plant took one of the clones and used some homemade colloidal silver to reverse it to make it grow pollen sacks I then harvested the pollen and put the other two clones in flower and pollinated them with the reversed pollen.

the strain that I used for this project was Humboldt seed organization fast flowing OGKZ it was my last seed of this strain and in my last grow of it the bud was so good I want to keep it around.

I still have some pollen stored in a thermos and some desiccant packs in my freezer so if this does work I can use some later down the line to cross with other strains with if I want to.

not going to lie the dont look that great structure wise as soon as I took the plant yoyo's off the plants the just flopped all over but that was expected but its all good plus I am all out of bud so this harvest is a very welcome site right now.

I usually dry my plant in my closet but did not want to move my other tent just to get in there so I just turned off the light and fan in the tent and left the exhaust fan on set to low and hung the plants whole.

now I just got to wait ten day for these plants to dry.

Ya should have quite a bit of seeds and from what i've read, drying it normally is best. I think I'm gonna let mine run a little long. That will let a few more seeds to mature and a more amber trichs. I'll just make some canna butter with it. Or pack it and squish it. I still haven't squished any Stomper yet. I think I should do that when I get back.

hello everyone its me db003 and I am now a proud plant father. I am happy to say my first seed breeding project was a success!

to sum my seed breeding project up I took 3 clones from the same plant from my last grow and reversed it with colloidal silver collected the pollen and used some the pollen to pollinate the other two clones.

its a cross of humboldt seed organization fast flowering ogkz crossed back with feminized pollen of same strain.

It took a little long for my plants to dry but it could just be that I was excited to find out the results of my first seed project and I was also clean out of any bud

some of the buds still need to be in the jar but with the lids open for the finishing touch because of there stickiness it can be hard to judge there full dryness.

anyway I took one of the buds I marked that was pollinated and broke it up and best I could with out damaging the seeds just to see if it worked or not and got a bunch of seeds.

I would say I got close to 40 nice looking seeds just from that one bud. there were a few immature seeds but only like one or two so far I still need to see how the rest of the seeds come out. but the ones I have seen so far are not the fattest seeds but are brown with some tiger strips so thats a great sign.

I took the rest of the marked buds from this plant and put them in a separate jar away from the other buds for a closer inspection when they get a bit drier and the seeds and come out a bit easier.

I still have the other plant to trim tomorrow to see if that plant got seeds as well on the marked pollinated buds.

hello everyone its me db003

I finally got around to breaking down the buds I pollinated and got a lot of seeds not sure how many yet but i would say maybe a few hundred seeds which is awesome.

I scored so nice finger hash after busting up all those buds lol

the seeds are on the smaller side but its all good as long as the sprout I made sure to label them and keep the in separate jars becase they came from two plants of the same strain but still better to label them anyway

I have two other photo plants that I am vegging out right now and I want to hit a few buds with the pollen I used in this grow that I still have some in the freezer that was left over

if I do decided to do it this will be my first cross strain the hardest part of the seed breeding project to me was making the pollen and since I have some I might as well use it

I still need to look up proper long term seed storage because it will be a long while before I could use all these seeds up given how small my grow set up is and I dont want my hard work to be ruined

to this point I was just had my seeds in a large plastic jar with all the seeds in there packages just sitting in a cabinet and its been like that for years

Storing them in the dark and very low humidity is the most important thing. Silica Dessicant works very well. Low and stable temperatures also help alot.

Congrats on your first successful seed run.
