Indoor Iriee Vibez grows Blue Toof & DP Lemon Zkittle outdoors

I was so surprised to come home and find that the Lemon Zkittle was all cloudy. I expected to pump up the PK for another couple weeks before flushing. I am sure they would be past their prime if I continued with the plan. I have started the flush instead, and plan to harvest next weekend.

I clipped off a lower bud, and have it quick drying for a little taste. This is such an aromatic and sticky strain that I can't wait.

Looks delicious, doesn't it?

Here is the rest of her.

You remember the little Strawberry Nugget I threw out there. Well she has started to flower already, if you can believe it. She won't be a big plant by any means, but hoping that I can get a good sized main cola from her. Sunlight is becoming shorter and shorter, so she will have to make the most of what she gets.

Thanks Chro! I am almost there now. I had that sample drying outside for a couple days, so should be ready for the bowl later. Will smoke it in celebration of the New York Giants victory!

Pre Harvest Pictures!

These two will be chopped down tomorrow night. I have been flushing with water and flawless finish for the past week, and they are at their absolute peak now. Trichomes range from all cloudy to 20% amber depending on where on the plant I examine. The smell of these babies is intoxicating. Man, that sweet skunk lemon... I can't wait to get a whiff after a good cure!

I had to bring them inside for a bit yesterday because I had someone working in the backyard. Decided to give them a proper photo shoot to really document their last days. Such great plants to grow. Thick frosty buds on long long colas.

Keep in mind, that I lost a main cola to caterpillars, and have been clipping the lowers for my scientific testing over the past couple weeks. Even with that, they are some stacked girls.

The Cabbage Looper Caterpillar

cabbage-looper.jpg

So, I never heard of this bugger until I started harvesting. being that the plant is outdoors, I don't have the same private time to care for the plants, as I do indoors. Because of this, I didn't carefully inspect the back side of the plants that were not readily accessible. When I brought them inside for the preharvest pics, I noticed what I thought was bud rot. Dead clumps of dead spots on the colas. I removed much of four of my best colas, and discarded, thinking I took care of the problem. When I started rimming however, I quickly realized what the red issue was. My plants had a mid level infestation of cabbage loopers. At some point during flower, a moth laid eggs on my plants, which created these caterpillars that LOVE weed. My god! I can't believe how much damage these little things did. I found 7 of them imbedded in 7 different colas. Not wanting any trace of these pests in my smoke, I discarded anything near were I found them or any trace. I also discarded all the popcorn buds and sugar leaves, as I didn't trust that they were clean.

In all, I think I loss about ONE THIRD of my harvest! Damn! I was able to salvage a decent harvest, however, I have to figure this out before next season's outdoor grow. Anyone dealt with these pests before? Let me know if any secret weapons that won't affect my buds.

With that said here are some harvest pics. The buds are trimmed and drying in paper bags as we speak.

I am not going to cry over spilt milk, but will learn from it. I am thankful for the quality of the bud I did get. They are dense and sticky. I did lose a bit of the sweet lemon smell during harvest however, but I expect a good cure can take care of that. I am sure I have a decent yield from these two, so I can't be upset.

I'll post some dry bud shots next weekend, when I return from a work trip. Cheers!
