I read somewhere that the Iranian isn't a "true" autoflower. You have to put into flower by switching to 12/12. It just finishes way faster than a normal photo plant. I wish I could remember where I read that.
hmmm... that might be a definitive advantage actually... I'm thiking about splitting my flower chamber to dual purpose... 12/12 one side for photo flowering and 20/4 te other for auto flowering as well as the top chamber for clones / starts..... iranian might be a great easy solution.... also would be cool to breed in into a true auto....
I think there was an article about this strain in Skunk magazine a while back. It will flower in any light schedule other than 24/0 from what I've read. To keep a "mother" plant you have to keep it under 24/0 light. I'll try to find out which issue the article is in and let you guys know.
thats true. outdoors they just do their thing and flower at 42 days no matter the time of year and day length. indoors you have to flower them at 12/12 or 14/10. they WILL flower under 24 hour light but the flowering response is weak and it takes a long, long time to go to flower indoors unless forced with 12/12 or 14/10
P.S. I am NOT greenthumb and I don't know greenthumb and i don't know Sodalite either but the links I put up in post number 26 above of his grow journal says it all don't you?
I think mitch hit it on the head. Green thumb needs to get out a few testers.
It's almost a shame it's from a s1. It would be interesting to work the line a bit, see what else is in there.
Chem, what is the variation in phenos like? If some one chucked some pollen on one, you think it would breed well? I'd just be interested in that auto "gene pack" with the potency.
indoors you flower it like any other strain but it can yield a pound or so in the right conditions (vertical lights + buckets) and about 42 days of flowering. outdoors it flowers at about day 45 regardless of photoperiod
