Quick day 38 update on the Automazars. They are starting to move into flower, but started looking really light colored in the leaves. The one on the left started showing some rust spots on some upper fans as well. I mixed up a 1/2 strength batch of the bloom formula tea and tossed in a health dose of cal/mag supplement and that seems to have slowed the issue from what I can tell for now. That was Saturday morning, so going to go ahead and start bubbling another batch to hit 'em again. This always seems to be when things start to fall apart for me and one of these days I really need to figure out why. For some reason, it always also seems to be the plant on the left side of the closet that runs into the most issues, or gets hit the hardest by them. Almost starting to make me wonder if there is something environmentally different on that side of the closet that's making it harder on plants.

Well, the Automazars seem to be responding nicely to either the tea or the cal/mag. I bubbled up a batch of their bloom formula tea and gave it to them yesterday morning. Decided to go a little heavier handed this time since I just always start to feel at this point like I'm chasing deficiencies. So while I've always mixed or watered down the teas to half strength or so for autos, this time I bubbled it at full strength and gave it to them undiluted. May have gone a little heavier than the label on the cal/mag as well. And, I've saved the leftover tea in the fridge instead of giving it to the garden outside and going to give it to them tomorrow morning (so two days between). May start another batch bubbling right after that. I dunno...that trying to give 'em cal/mag type bit didn't seem to make enough difference in the past, so I figure why not try going heavier on stuff than usual. They're right in early bloom, so at perhaps the heaviest feeding and drinking phase of the plants life so if it's going to be able to handle it, and needs the nutes, now is the time.

Well, I go back and forth on feeling like the heavier tea regiment the last week has put some color back in the Automazars. One time looking at 'em I'll think they look like they are getting some darker green, then the next time feel like they are getting more spotted. So not really sure at this point. Going to keep it going with the teas for now and see what happens. Feels like I'm going to be pushing over watering with it, but they're in the phase where they normally drink a LOT every day so thinking they should be able to handle it. They are starting to pick up the pace with the Blumats again by the time the next tea dose is coming, so I'm taking that as an indicator that things deep in the pot are drying out enough between hand watering. Basically, not sure if I'm helping or adding to the problems at this point. Seems from what I can tell to be mostly helping, keeping the plants from going completely bad. On of these grows I'll have to dig in more and figure it out.

Quicky update on the photoperiod mainline plants in the tent. They've been growing along nicely and taking to training well. Did the third and what should be final round of big trimming this morning. So now just a few weeks of training and then should be ready to flower. I was really hoping the autos in the closet would be further along at this point as I'd prefer to try flowering them under the COB's in the closet, but if it has to be in the tent so be it.

Overdue for an update. Real life sucked a little focus off the grows for a few days and such.....you know how it goes. :smoking:

Anyhow.....the two Automazar's are still struggling around. The heavier feeding and cal/mag supplements seemed to help keep the one on the right for getting too bad and getting all spotted like the one on the left. But it's still pretty pale and starting to yellow out. I dunno....I seriously considering just chopping both of these, writing them off, and using the closet to go ahead and flower out the mainline photoperiod plants. Or maybe just pull the one on the left that's the worse of the two. But then that would switch the other to a 12/12 light cycle which could hurt what little potential it does still have. Don't really want to waste them, but at this point just don't know that I'm going to get enough bud with any quality to it to make it worth keeping them going.

Took these with the phone, so no white balance to adjust for the light temperature, so the pics look even yellower. But even with the bad photo lighting, still easy to tell that these ladies are struggling...

Meanwhile, the three photoperiod plants in the tent look like they're pretty much ready to go ahead and start flowering anytime now. Going to give them a couple more days training then switch them. Most likely moving them into the closet. Just think the COB fixture in the closet would do a little better job.

What's the run off PPM and Ph? Could be a salt build up overload causing too low ph causing lockout.

Thanks for the advice. I thought about trying to do a little soil analysis to try and see if I could figure out where they went south. But at this point I'm just kind of half heartedly trying to grow through some of my remaining seed stock before I give up the growing for a bit for various reasons. And I felt like they were far enough gone that trying to get them to recover would be semi-futile. Especially with the one that got hardest hit. In the end, I just decided it was time to call it on the Automazars and move on with the others. So I gave 'em the chop and moved over the three photoperiod plants from the tent to start flowering them in the closet.

The mainline plants are doing OK. I was slow on a watering, and the Ghost Of LeeRoy on the left got a little wilty but seems to have recovered OK. Gave them a good feeding this morning and going to go ahead with changing up their light cycle. The GoL on the left also got a little lanky on a couple of the nodes, so maybe not as even all around as would be ideal. The other Ghost Of LeeRoy that had half snapped off early on is looking pretty nice on how it ended up with the shaping. I think the low and tight little Deep Cheese in the middle is perhaps looking the best. I'm ready to see how they play out with the transition and flowering.:smoking:

That's a shame they could not be saved. How close are your cobs? I ask because on one of the pics I can see slight calmag def on leaves, making me wonder if they are too close which can cause this.

Do not mean to lecture friend just an observation, wish you :vibes: j :karmacloud:

cal/mag could be likely since I think I missed one watering/feeding before I moved them. It wouldn't necessarily be the COB's, though. The signs were there before they were being moved, back with the Platinum LED's in the tent. They were only running in veg mode, and I was juggling between the taller GOL's and the shorter Deep Cheese, so could very well have been a little close to the GOL's, which seem to be showing the discoloration.

With the higher intensity COB's, I've got them running a little higher than with the Platinum's. I also gave everyone a good does of cal/mag and other nutes yesterday and going to likely hit them again tonight after the lights come back on (providing the soil feels it's dried enough...was still kind of damp this AM).

And then there were two...

All three started showing gender traits in the last few days. Deep Cheese is female, the Ghost Of LeeRoy that lost half the plant in one of the early trims turned out to be male, and the other GoL is female. So not too bad a results on the GoL for non feminized, one of each. If I was looking like I was going to keep growing long term, I'd be tempted to leave 'em be and do my first breeding run. Especially with these representing the last of the Ghost Of LeeRoy seeds I had, it could be nice to make a new batch. But since I'm likely done early next year I'm going to go ahead and pull the boy out of the mix and give him the chop.

The two remaining are transitioning nicely it looks like. GoL still chasing cal/mag or ?? a little maybe, but looking much better than back when I first move her into the closet.
