I misjudged seed harvest time on my Sinai, so did three passes through the seeds to pinch out the bad ones. My forefinger and thumb were bruised for two days as a result.
I'm therefore happy to see 80% germination with this last batch.
Now I have 16 seedlings, and will be killing any males and pheno-hunting females. I'll be breeding the best females by reversing one and creating an all-female IBL. At least that's the plan. I have plenty of seeds, so I can convert it to a regular line whenever I want to.
Given the quality of the leftovers I smoked after removing seeds, I'm pretty optimistic I'll find my females in this first set.
This Purple Canyon Detroit pheno didn't stretch as much as her sister, and looks like she's starting to finish (she's six weeks in). She's been stalled for the last couple of weeks - my fault, or she's just bulking up. She's got a strong fuel odor, without the complexity her sister had. Already lots of cloudy trichomes with a fair bit of clears left and no ambers.
My clones of her sister, Industrial, all died in the cloner. Mold. But I finally have my new clone station dialed in and other clones are starting to sprout (planted three in pots yesterday). Also I have some crosses with an Afgaan/Kumaoni x PC-Industrial that I'm growing out so maybe all is not lost.
Naturally I'm unhappy with losing the clone, but really, what are the odds that the first plant harvested was the best? Anyhoo, I sent GPS a text asking them about future seeds availability, and I'm glad to find out that they are going to have more Purple Canyon seeds available in September
and I'll be stocking up at that time. Muchly.
Here's the whole tent:
At the back middle-right is the Detroit's offspring (x Whamband) and I have two clones of her. She's starting hard stretch as of today. I'll feature her in an update in a few days. Who knows what'll come of it, but it has Headband genetics so I'm optimistic.
