Indoor In the Rasters of My 4 by 4

I'm back to talking about Purple Canyon (what I'm now calling the Industrial pheno). It looks like the branch I donated for clones didn't work out. The cuttings are still alive, but not looking great. Her harvest is imminent so I will be chopping her soon...

This lady is almost perfect! She stretches well, but not too much. The effects are the best smoke I've had for a couple of years. Easy to train. The only complaint I have is that internode spaces don't get completely filled in. Her sister is in stretch now, Detroit, and her internode spaces are shorter. I'm hoping the effects are just as good.

I plucked a seed from her from the Afgaan 90 x Kumaoni herm and planted it:

Today's spotlight is on the Purple Canyon Detroit pheno. She's going to be at least as big as her sister, with shorter internodes. I expect a four ounce harvest soon from her sister, so this one should give me six. I pulled her out of the tent yesterday and she looked like this:

I trimmed up some lowers, so now she looks like this:

Some of her colas don't reach the top canopy but I'll be working on that using Kyle Kushman's chiropractic technique. Also, look at all the cuttings I took!

You'll remember she's already created seeds and was flipped back to veg. This is what you can expect in cola structure after cutting off most of them, when you flip a flowering plant back to veg.

Her sister - Industrial - the industrial chemical smell disappears as buds ripen and is replaced with a strong cherry odor so it's pretty easy to tell when she's really close because even the lower buds will switch to cherry and I'll know she's really ready.

One more final post of the day. Here's the $41 I chopped a couple of days ago.

One branch was promptly put on the dash to quick-dry. I weighed it after drying and extrapolated. I think I got more than four ounces. Everything is ready at the same time and she was very easy to train. If I was growing for dispensaries I'd grow this one again, because she's perfect. Except that her effects are too medicinal for me.

Today's spotlight is on the Strawberry Cough. I think I gave it too much of this:

It's the second time I've done that. I hate mixing nutes and probably shouldn't be allowed to, ever! 😭

So I took her outside and gave her a really good flushing. She's supposed to be ready between now and the 15th but I don't think she'll be ready in time. We'll see.

I'm just scrolling through here with a big fat grin on my face. I took three hits, then two more of some Strawberry Cough I just picked to test. Trichomes are fully cloudy, but there wasn't much amber last time I checked.

Whether she's done or not, this one's a keeper. And not because of the strawberries. It's the buzz. The one where you feel your eyelids relax and you feel your eyes become less and less oval. When you look in the mirror at your red eyes and say, "I know you!" :pimp: The buzz doesn't last particularly long though. Half an hour later and I'm coming back to baseline. I'm guessing that could have been prevented by smoking more. I'll have to try that.

She was barely big enough to feed herself when I flipped her into flower. So this ounce or two is my fault, but the buds are so dense it could be more than I expected. I'm going to flip her back to veg to take more cuttings and start again. So I'm going to chop her now. Don't want her going past the point of no return. (She can see that from here.)

Next time I run her it's going to be a SCROG or something similar. And I'll make sure she's big before I flip.

Not more than maybe two ounces, which means I should be able to pull six ounces from her, easy, if I give her time to veg. I stand by my decision to rush her into flower so I could try her - now I know she's worth it.

Day 68. That's 9.7 weeks.

Here she is, ready for the next run...
