Hello Auto Peeps!
First Timer, setting up a tent.
Trying to do it right.

Will a 4 hour temperature change benefit my plants?

I'm gonna run a 540 w (draw) cob 20/4, and a small oil filled heater in the 4x4 tent (50° - 55° degree basement.)

Planning to control temps via the heater (on a thermostat switch) and adjusting my 4" exhaust output.

Shootin' for 81° F Daytime.

Should I drop to 73°ish (10%?) for a few hours at night ?

What protocol would be optimal for my girls?

Has anyone had experience with the Blueprint Controllers Digital Day/Night Temperature Controller, BDTC-1?

I'm considering picking one up depending on the responses from the wise gardeners of AFN.

All opinions appreciated, and cold facts valued.

Thanks for reading this! Lol

Colder night temps will give beautiful colors! Mine sometimes drops as low as 64. People say it may slow growth a bit, let me see if my Masters of Buds have anything to say about it...

Colour. Like Witchy said.

A 10c difference between day and night temps brings out the colours.

There's the school of thought that mild stresses ,such as night time temp drops, can increase resin production.

My plants are prettier in winter when I get a bigger temp difference. Not sure I'd spend money on kit to make that more controllable.

Temp swing is good.

mimicking nature in a controlled environment.

IMHO: best of both worlds....keep tent in upper 60s with AC blasting for foilage, and reptile cage hest pads under cloth pots to keep roots at the warmer temp for nute intake
