I really feel like giving up.

I did wipe every surface I could with bleach water. I guess it's possible I missed some.

I also read somewhere that pollen shouldn't live more than a couple weeks in a hot grow room, which is why people who collect it have to store it properly. Just something I read, so not sure if it's true or not. But it was probably 3+ weeks before I had autos with any buds to speak of in there.

mmm, the plot thickenz...:eyebrows: :pop: ppp

If I had to lay money on the offender, it's the gelato 41.
I have a couple seeds set back that came from a gelato purchased from a dispensary. Am a bay area grower, it's a local strain. Can't toss them, smoke was great, can't bring myself to run them, I know what to expect.

If an auto did it too, betting it's the gg4, again, photo parent known for this issue.

Arthur, that is interesting. For some reason I was a bit suspicious of the Blue Gelato 41's. Something about the look of them. Maybe I could have caught it sooner.
ID'ing and removing immediately is clearly something I need to work on.

There are a lot of great strains out there that are good and stable. It just takes a little digging. Most aren't the newest and coolest named, but rock solid performers. I had a medical collective grow go to seed on me a long time ago, I can get obsessive now researching genetics. I may still run something I expect to give me issues, sometimes you get one that the gene is recessive and doesn't express. Sometimes the smoke is worth it... sour D...

The genetics are the primary suspects here as anything with blueberry or GG4 is carrying the gene. The triger may have been some environmental change you are not monitoring (noticing) because you are in the same space. I had no idea how much our, Ms MOB and my daily routines influenced the inside of the grow space until I got a Pulse One. In the winter when the house is closed up, taking a shower raises the humidity in the space 7%. Fixed that by closing the door at shower time. So it is hard to say what may have triggered it. Look for strains that are hermie resistant. Farmers never give-up. Farmer.

This comes with growing, but the level of seeding you have is avoidable. Growing/gardening requires diligence. Everything that has been said so far is true. If there was pollen in that tent st anytime, then everything needs to be wiped clean. Flan blades and all. Everything. Genetics matter. I only grow gear from trusted and well respected breeders that show their work. The diligence part comes into play by checking your plants daily. Most people just open their tent, water their plants, look for issues on leaves, and close the tent. If you really look at the plants everyday or so, you will catch terms early. You should be really examining the buds, and the base. Brown pistils on one bud and not the others is a known visual sign. You can also see the banana sacks on the buds. Some plants, you can pluck off the sacs and they don't grow back.. Some will have too many to pluck off. But you can catch them before they open. Herms are rarely caused by pin hole light leaks.. I have a bunch of those in my tent. Most people do.
My advise is to NOT give up.. It sounds like the issues you encountered were out of your control.. That's a good thing! That can't happen for long. And once that happens you'll see the rainbow.

What are some more stable types of strains?
OG Kush?
Bubba?
Cookies?

Just thinking of some goodies I already have to run next.
Hell, the seed collection I've put together is almost enough to make it worth not giving up:doh:

Don't give up growbro I'm pretty sure these folks will help you get everything running tip top sadly I've got no advice to offer about hermies but I think your now on the right track

I think the first place to start is with seeds from Big name breeders and avoid anything with blueberry or GG#4. The thing is I have grown many Blueberry strains and only had one hermie in over 7 years. So I still think you have a stressor in your environment and you are not tracking it yet.

Answers would vary depending on your likes dislikes... but as stated above, big name breeders, Dinafem, Mephisto etc. Then just avoid some of the parent genetics.
Personally I'd be looking for a fast turn. Maybe sour crack from mephisto, depending on your likes dislikes... a 60 day run might be what the doc ordered!
