New Grower I probably should have waited until fall...

Ok, so just pop the, back on 12/12 and see what happens in two or three days. Adjust to what you see...time to call an audible. You got this. I have had this happen to me once as well. Took a little longer, but I still managed to finish them out. You can do the same. We just need to figure out what they want.
Make the adjustment, then wait. Still looking healthy, so there is potential. Such a great growing experience. Your second grow is going to seem so easy, and sometimes that is the best thing for a new grower. You have learned a lot about growing you may have never learned had this grow gone perfectly, and then who knows later how bad things could have gone wrong?

All about perspective and staying focused on the plants in front of you. This hobby teaches discipline.

Thanks Med. That's a great way to look at it. A learning experience for sure. Reading all the other journals, there are some ph issues, humidity, nute level, but nothing like this. But you are right, I figured out how to keep them healthy and growing. Just need to get them through flowering now. Keep the same routine, but adjust the lights. It actually will help with heat for sure. Although the plants seemed to not be bothered by cabinet heat now with thier big roots in the 66 degree water.

Do you think there is a chance I can increase the lights when I see buds forming, or should I finish on 12/12?

Another challenge. I think my plants are photo-autos. Since I increased the lights, the plants haven't progressed any closer to flower. Growers Choice said I can increase the lights after pistils are showing as that would trigger the flowering. I think I need to move these plant back to12/12 for them TO flower. So, I made the change today.

Hopefully, I don't lose much with the reduced light through the rest of the grow. I really didn't need this with my first grow. Why couldn't I get auto-auto seeds?
Variability is what makes nature successful - it is in the genes. or life is like a box of chocolates; you just never know what your going to get from a seed. I have had some real losers and I have had what I thought was a loser end up being some of the best cannabis; maybe big yield, best flavor, best buzz, most beautiful flowers ......................... So do not despair and give that plant some love (and less hours of light). :bighug:.

Right on, MOG! Will do! Trying to work out a game plan. Let's say they start flowering in a couple days. Can I then switch back to the increased lighting if they like it? Or would it then stop the flowering process, which is what I swear just happened.

No you did that already and it did not work so treat them like Photoperiod plants (they probably are) 12/12.

That is what I was thinking. Thanks MOG.

I would really wait until the buds form and get at least half way done before I would mess with the lights. I probably would just leave it if that is working. Let's see how it goes. Just like [HASHTAG]#manogreen[/HASHTAG] said, these seeds are alive and have genetic codes, this is not a box of Nutter Butters. They don't ever turn out the same each time. They will adapt. Manage yourself a little longer and get through this one. Then you have to sort out your space and better manage the couple things you now know are important.
BTW, and I know you didn't t exactly have a choice, but this is why I take a break in usually the mid May to Mid August section each year. I don't fight the heat, and I get some time with family in the warm summer months. More time at the pool!

Hey Med, yeah I am hoping that I will be in a position to skip next summer too, hopefully with two more grows between this one and then. I wish I knew they were photos weeks ago before the GG grew into a monster. I hope it doesn't have too much stretch. the CP will be fine, perfect size, but need to manage the GG through flowering for sure.

We can help you through it. Your not alone, so you know you will be ok. Tough experience for your first grow, but a lot has been learned. The stretch will be minimized at some point due to the proximity of the lights and space. You might have to get a little creative with supercropping.

Took another turn at supercropping the GG. If this keeps up, I may have to put up my net trellis. The footprint of te GG is now as large as it can get without really infringing on the CP's space. I may have to remove some branches at some point to keep it manageable laterally, also. This GG is turning out to be a monster plant.

Feeling confident knowing my AFN support team will be with me through this unusually challenging first grow.
