Prelude: This is will be a detailed orientated log of sorts. Times, dates and figures will be accurately kept for the sake of bookkeeping. In conjunction with observing these two strains I will be journaling the quality and performance of the associated equipment used in this grow.

Strains Lost Coast Skunk & Lemon Juice Express

Soil/Medium Kind soil & Coco Loco in 1 gallon Maxx yield air pots

Water (source) *Evaporated water PPM 10 / PH 6.5-6.8

Light source Growboxusa duo drive 180w (seedling/vegatative) Kind k5 750 (Flowering)

Grow space: Growboxusa "Misty" & "Silverback EC (environmental control)

Germination: Rapid Rooter plugs

* water is collected from air conditioning unit inside the silverback box

Grow overview: I Will be germinating the seeds in rapid rooter plugs. Once they break ground they will be transplanted into 1 gallon pots. The pots are setup as per Kind soil recommendations with a slight altercation. A small 1/8" layer of coco Loco was placed as a barrier to minimize soil loss thru the bottom screen, 5 cups of Kind was then placed, then coco Loco. Seedlings will be placed in the Misty-which is the seedling/ vegetative chamber. Once preflowers are seen or size dictates, the plants will be placed in the Silverback to flower.

Seeds were placed in Rapid rooted plugs on Oct 15. Plugs were moist by evaporated water periodically. 5 days had passed until they showed their face. I attribute the lower than usual humidity (40%) to the sluggish rate of germination. However, we don't ask how but how many and we are 100% for germination rate. Originally I used Kinds 5 cups appx: 1lb rule. After backtracking I found that in my soil, 1 cup is appx 50 grams. Once this was learned I carefully pulled the seedlings out, dug back the coco and added two rounded cups in the pots. I then back filled with coco Loco. I used this time to also add hydroton to the top layer for future irrigation purposes.

Lemon juice plug had a dozen roots poking out of plug. Very hearty looking seedling.
Lost Coast skunk did not appear to have the same rooting but a single long taproot about 1.5" long.

Misty box temp/humidity: 84F 42%RH
Light:
24/0, white/ blue spectrum. 18" clearance

Question....about how many inches across is the filter? Or the light, whichever measurement you have.

Yesterday I was anxious to fire up the silverback and get these girls under the Kind LED. As my common sense side of things told me not to I forged ahead like any true rookie. After a few hours I noticed both plants dropping and showing signs of "rams horning". At first glance it was exhibiting textbook overwatering symptoms, obviously this was not the cause. The LED, or K5 as I like to refer, was appx 32" above canopy. Settings were as followed: A (red) 15% B (blue) 30%, and C ( blue) 30%. Also, a digital thermometer was reading a canopy temp of 74F @ 40%RH. I was following Kinds suggested seedling settings and otherwise providing a normal environment for my girls. Instead of reinventing the wheel I placed the girls back in the Misty and 12 hours later they are perky.

Temp:
86F 35% RH
Light: White/blue @ 18"; 24/0
Water: Shot every 24 hours: PPM 16, PH 7.3

Both plants are looking normal with no deficiencies. Lemon juice is growing at a faster rate than the Lost Coast skunk. Rubbing the leaves of lemon juice provides a pungent smell with a slight lemon or citrus scent. Rubbing the leaves of the skunk provides a genuine body odor smell.

In my earlier entries I wrote about how I collect the water from the silverbacks A/C unit. Every AC unit accumulates water in the part they call the evaporator. The condensate drain line is fed to a sump, once the sump fills its then discharged into a tank in the growing chamber. I am noticing a slow increase in my PH. Both my digital and manual PH tester are showing 7.3, this is roughly a .8 increase in the last several weeks. I will continue to monitor and inspect for any possible contamination.

Not the whole box...just how much space the filter takes up....for instance if i had a light that was 14' wide would it fit next to the filter.
No, you have 12" of clearance. If you have more questions I would be glad to help, but thru private messages please
