Yes, of course the genetic potential for the right terpenes produced at the right time needs to be there. But I've done at about a dozen grows, always growing different strains, and my plants just do not stink. Potency, yield, etc. are not a problem, and lack of stink is inherently good for indoor growing. But what can I and presumably others do if we want more stink (or others who want to minimize it) do to control this while the plant is maturing?
I havent had that problem with legit genetics... Ive grown bagseeds that smelt like vegetation moreso than weed but those were seeds from brickweed that im sure was straight from mexico lmao. From my first grow up until current If I dont use a filter the smell will linger well outside of my home during certain hours of the day with the known genetics. Usually the smell gets the strongest around the time the lights cut off n on. Ive never had a plant stop smelling but I will say this... if you are around the smell all the time you can easily become resistant to smelling it... for example I may not smell weed in my home right now but if I brung a friend over they would be telling me how much my place reeks of weed. Most of the time I cant smell my weed real good unless I take it out somewhere with me. Anyhow Loki is definitely one of the guys thatll be able to help you if he gets around to poppin up. But man what strains are you growing and whats your environment like?

Well someone like Loki could probably get 270+ lol... but id realistically aim for 180-220G’s personally. But it all boils down to the environment and the strains. Im a fan of cloning so I know what im working with after the first grow. I have been growing a strain called special queen for a while just a cheap fem seed that was a 50/50 sat/ind and she done me great... not the largest yielder but smelled nice and tastes nice. Unfortunately I ended up quit growing her last grow and now im switching it up which im excited about but I would like to grow the SQ again in the future definitely a decent plant.
I’m I a 80x80x160cm tent 6” fan an filter fan inside for air circulation am growing in soil a light mix using bio bizz grow, bloom, topmax, big bud, molasses in 6.5ltr pots grizzly purple auto 2 and 1 northern lights blue auto temps 23-27c and humidity 55% ph 6.5 your right they do seem to smell more during lights out until the light is bk on an yes yrs of the smell I av obviously got used to it but my fiancé she’s T-total and she’s says the same pal unusual I no lol[emoji41][emoji12][emoji13][emoji14]

Seems like a decent setup for sure. Hopefully you get it figured out obstacles are just part of it. Ive unfortunately been dealing with mites for a bit thankfully only one grow was badly infected though the rest id manage to keep them away until late flower where id notice signs of them but thankfully incredibly low numbers so not a problem come harvest. This last grow I quit growing and broke everything down to clean. So ive recently been getting it all started again and plan to remain bug free this grow... have some good quality bagseeds going ontop of an LSD and Pineapple Chunkonce I set my tent back up ill be putting the lsd and pc into the tent and the bagseeds will stay in the separate area because im thinking they will hermie but nothing thatll make it not worth it... its a nice 13% CBD 4% THC strain so itll be good for meds and whatnot and half a dozen seeds wont hurt anything itll just ensure I have more of it if I ever want to grow it again lol.
Funny enough the lsd and pc are the smaller ones and I started them 2-5 days before the others yet they appear to have started way after. TSSC definitely sold me some iffy seeds that are off to a slow start compared to bagseeds ive grown.
