Yes, everyone cites retaining or even bringing-out smell through curing. But how does one increase odor in the first place, during bloom?
The strain can play a big factor... Best to grow bought seeds from a reputable breeder or seeds you find in some gooood smoke... Be cautious if you grow bagseeds from quality smoke expect Hermie traits if there weren't many seeds Id definitely grow a bagseed though and do... But if you use seeds from brickweed for examples that stuff is usually bred for high yields and practically the tiniest smell possible for easy transport... A nice skunk strain if healthy will smell very loud...
Grab a fan leaf and rub the stem and smell your fingers that's what the buds will smell like... It can take few weeks of flower before a smell even forms and even then the bulk of the smell doesn't typically come until mid to late flower and when it does... It does... My first successful flower was WITHOUT a filter because well how bad can a single small plant smell after all? Well that 2.5oz plant every night an hour or so before lights cut on would stink to high heaven I mean I could smell this single plant that's in my closet from the god damn sidewalk.... Do you have any pics of your plants? Keep in mind that the cure doesn't necessarily increase smell... What it does however is it gets rid of that green chlorophyll smell that can cause bud to smell like hay or like Reggie does... So a proper dry and cure is just as important as growing a healthy plant. Because even if it smells when you chop if you don't do it right you may not get the smell back right..
Also keep in mind that if you stay in the same general area of the plant and smoke weed ect it can easily smell without you knowing maybe bring a friend in and see if they smell weed and if they do say you were smoking it up.
But again man I'd recommend you go rub your finger between fan leaf stems and see if you get a nice smell... Even when my plants don't smell quiet yet I can usually get a smell after rubbing stems or just brushing the plants with my hands in general and getting them moving.
