New Grower How to retain the smell and taste of bud

Don’t worry.... what ratio is the calmag? N-P-K wise that is... Your plant has tons of healthy leaves so I wouldnt worry yet unless it starts spreading fast. Just keep going with it and maybe increase the cal/mag by 25% IF it doesnt have much N in it because you definitely dont want to use to much N in flower. Your plant looks fine and a few off colored leaves arent a biggie just watch it and if it gets worse even with the bit extra of nutes then post a follow up.

You'd be better off just using bloom nutes or a cal-mag that's closers to 1-2-2 or 2-4-6 or something along those lines or you'll probably end up with a nitro tox.

led guy is right sensi cal mag is packed with nitrogen for some reason so to combat this use less of the A which contains the nitrogen calcium and magnesium so you will have more of the cal mag and less nitogen look at the percentages on the bottle you will see the cal mag has higher concentration of of cal mag than your sensi A hope this makes sense also like wille says pictures in white light would help alot

my bad i just assumed but the theroy is still good just read the percentages on the bottles and dial back the base nutes with nitrogen in them and add the cal mag at 1ml/L to start with do you have a e.c or ppm meter

I think im a little late here but I’ll chime in anyways.
The way I dry and cure I find I retain the most smell and taste than any other method I’ve tried.
First I remove any fan leaves that have no value to them, you can juice them.
Then I take the whole plant and hang it upside down for about 3-4 days, next I cut the colas off and remove the sugar leaves. I cut them into even buds and throw them into paper bags.
Everyday I throw the paper bags into an airtight container for a bit to evenly distribute moisture (very important)
I do this until the bud is evenly drying and the stem bends then snaps (don’t wait any longer)
Lastly I jar them up with a Boveda pack and take off the lid everyday until the stem snaps, once the stem snaps you’ll have a perfect smoke.

Yes, everyone cites retaining or even bringing-out smell through curing. But how does one increase odor in the first place, during bloom?

I believe it has a lot to do with your environment. Shoot for optimal conditions; light, temps, humidity + airflow, c02, wet/dry cycles etc..
Then selecting a strain with a high terpene profile and then isolating the best pheno.
Higher levels of UV may play a role, also lower humidity during flower.

Here’s an article “terpene synthesis in cannabis Sativa” this explains how they are actually produced:
