How to grow in coco loco?!

If you ever plan on going soil/organic again, I've had great results using Mosquito Bits to make the gnats disappear. Anything with BTI will do the trick though. Those little buggers can infiltrate your coco too, so keep a look out.
How do you use mosquito bits? I have gnats right now trying to get rid of. They arent bad but im sure they will be soon enough.

yeah i used bti throughout the whole grow. Beneficial nematodes were the only thing that really did the trick. I really just “managed” them until harvest.
With the Coco, im planning on doing my seedling rinse with bti, then i’ll mix in some bti bits with my top soil, then i’m covering the top soil with rice pumice. Gnats-B-Gone! Lol.

i’ll also probably spray some neem around early in.

bits can be sprinkled around the top soil then watered in. I mixed mine with the top soil before i transplanted. Dunks may work better.

During a watering/fertigation event, I use a tablespoon per gallon of water of the bits and put them inside a small pantyhose. Tie a knot on the pantyhose, then place it in the water for around 30-45mins. When taking it out I bobbed the pantyhose in and out to get all the BTI in the water. Saturate the media and within a day, you'll notice the gnat population has lessened. A week later, if you still have some flying around, re-apply.

Another thing that helps out in my grow, and I'm not sure how they got in there, but some soil mites moved in and they love eating the gnat larvae. Again, not sure how they got there, but I'm not evicting them anytime soon! :cooldance:
