iLuvIndica, your thread is yours again, I will no longer talk to soneone who don't listen....
Can't wait to watch your grow...

OK well that's a little different than what you originally stated. Not trying to stir the pot, just trying to make sense of this assbackwards plant.

I think if 6500 is ideal for start to finish then MH would be the same. At least it should be...

If someone is giving thier hard learned advice and tips after Years of growing it is obvious that he has had enough time with autos and T5s especially when he has grown out autos and used the same system as i bought do me a favor look at his albums and can you tell me his plants look like crap?? no thier fing amazing i simply think ur backing ur info on ur exp with photoperiods and giving that he usues T5s and grows autos im gonna head his advice ovr yours espically when he goes out of his way to help me out when he could just sit back and let me do w.e. instead hes is fighting you ovr something that doesnt need to be 3 pages of bitchin dont fight on my thread anymore please and really dont get your panties in a bunch evryone isnt gonna agree you with 100pct of the time its called LIFE

Your gonna love the fixture. Mine is an 8 bulb 4ft. and I want another one :D. You'll be able to grow a small photo with your's. I can grow one but the lower buds won't form up so well. But still.

I just started a photo grow to make a few new auto's with. Why I'm telling you this is because I'm going to give the photo's about 2 weeks veg. and I'm going straight to 12/12 to flower. I'm hoping they stay nice and short. Not looking for volume though. Just need them to seed the auto's with. But I think, even though your fixture is small. With bloom bulbs and 12/12, you should be able to grow at least one decent photo in a grow. Now you'll need both veg. and bloom bulbs if you plan on growing a photo.

Here's my home page here on AFN. Stop by some time and see how the photo grow is going. 3 Dutch Passion Blue Berry and 1 Barnys Farm Acapulco Gold. I will also be doing 2 auto's with the photo's just for fun. One Purple Jem and one of my own strains and a personal fav. I call the Power Pac.

I'll be swinging by quite often since you and me are the only T5 growers here. I mean others have them, but more just have the T5 strip for germ.

It's nice having another grower with the same kind of set up...

Actually there might be another one soon. iLuvIndica, hopefully you're cool with a little more T5 discussion. :D I've got limited space for a light rig in my cabinet (14"x25") but I've found a 4 bulb T5 fixture that will fit: http://www.horticulturesource.com/s...orescent-lighting-fixture-2-4-lamp-23--p2655/

I'm currently running a homemade setup with 4 42w CFLs, which are around 2800 lumens each. Even though the 2' T5 bulbs are only 2000 lumens each, do you think it would be worthwhile to make the switch? I'm having heat issues and I think the T5 might help a bit with that, and I've read that they penetrate more effectively than CFLs due to the shape of the bulb. For $100 I'm thinking about trying it, since I can always use the T5 for supplemental lighting when I get a larger grow space. What are your thoughts, Ripster?

The way i looked at it Andy when it came to the final decision was that the cfls are meant for lighting rooms or w.e. buying a growing cfl light plus reflector is that same as a 2'T5 setup another thing is that if you have your cfls in optimal position from what i understand if your able to get the full 2800 lumens and being since there non-growing lights i think the intensity just inst there the most you would get out of those bulbs would be 9,200 lumens of non-growing light cfl where as im going off what the hydo guy at the store told me is that im getting about 20,000 lumens with real growing lights that have the intensity needed i think and also its in a professional installed reflector measured out all precise and i looked at your cab/ grow box if you could fit that T5 in there it would make it awesome and this is just my assumption given you get more than double the lumens and its the same price as cfls less heat and cost then HIDs to me its the way to go and another note i can give you more of my opinion when they actually grow out lmao i nvr grew before in my life especially autos im excited but yea check up on my grow log to see how its going

oh yea i was looking over the box supposedly i have T5HO lol i think that makes a difference not sure tho

This thread started as a great place for info on lights for the newcomers! Unfortunately after reading what has been posted since I was last here, I have to say I'm disappointed with the way people (newbies or not) responded so rudely and aggressively, while at the same time saying what is essentially their opinion, stated as fact.
Anyway, iLuvIndica did you decide on the mix of the spectrum with more on the warm side? Or are you gonna stick to the 6500s all the way? Every time I have stuck with 6500 or close, the plants are very leggy and not much bud production although they got quite tall...
I will be picking up a 8 bulb T5 fixture soon with a 50/50 mix of warm and cool bulbs. This will be replacing the overhead reflectors, and all the bulbs from said reflectors will be used as vertical lighting at all four corners and the middle of the potted plants...

Good luck with your collection of the perfect lighting iLuvIndica! I will follow your grow with interest! (maybe we can keep the haters at bay, Florescent lighting Rocks!)

Im gonna use 6500ks the whole time if they start getting leggy ill switch too the 2700ks but im feeling like rip is right bc thats the same rational this is just MY OPINION i know the sun gives off the whole spectrum BUT during summer which autos clearly flower on their own they are getting MOSTLY 6500k bc during the summer the sun gives off more blue spec longer bc it stays higher in the sky longer does that make any sense?

And yea freak if my first grow goes well ill use nothing but floros bc they are way cooler than the HID i felt at the hydro store if i had one of those in my closet my temps would be like 110+F not good

Always ready to discuss T5 lighting. I love it...

Yeah, I do. I would use your CFL fixture as middle lighting and T5 fixture for overhead lighting. I just might do this myself.
Also, this site might save you a few dollars on the fixture.
