If i wanted to run 5 autos in 3 gal pots i currently have 4 of these DSC00113.jpg100 watt equivalent 5000k spectrum and one of these i call them the BIG BOYDSC00165.jpgDSC00163.jpg
Basically in my closet nothing to fancy but should i get more and of which kind i plan on doing 5 auto sour 60s i have about 50$ to spend on lights any help would be greatly appreciated thank you in advance :D

For 50 bucks you can pick up a 150 or 200 ACTUAL watt CFL and fixture, by the way never go with equivalent wattage when you are adding up what you have with CFLs, very inaccurate to tell you how much light you are getting, always the actual watts and lumens. I have at the moment three 125 watt CFLs in reflectors that I am using during the hot months then its back to 200 watts in each of the three reflectors, again these are actual watts. The equivalent would be more than double that, and is variable according to who produces it....

Got a pic of one of the 125s I use (available in both warm 2700K and cool 6500K) for about 40 bucks each...

dont mean to jump in this thread
but surffreak where did you purchase that light? does it require a ballast?

Built in ballast, ready to go...

Sorry iLuvIddica, wont do it again.
But that bulb would be perfect for you or a couple of them...

where do you get those lol i dont care those look awesome im trying to do 5 sour60 as i just got them in the mail today :)

No ballast, it's built in... Just need a Mogul Base E 39 socket to screw them into. You can get nice reflectors for them ($60-75 new but there are cheaper models like the wing style) or just buy the cord ($12) and set it up how you wish... they are available at most hydro stores or if you go online to http://www.growlightsupply.com/ They have CFLs that range all the way up to 300watt monster single bulbs! The 125 watts that are pictured cost about 35-45 depending where you get them/manufacturer...

The reflectors I use from Hydro Farm DSCN1063.jpgDSCN1062.jpg
Just the cord and socket for vertical or custom mounting...

just as a side note, if you wanna move iLuvIndica, Colorado all the way! LOL

Thanks surf. So these wont work on house light fixtures?
How much did the E 39 socket cost?

No they are about twice as wide as a regular fixture, and I was meaning the cord and E 39 socket was 12 bucks total... There's not much to them, but they can handle the 300 watt monsters and more no problem! Way easier than a HID cool tube, you can drop one into the middle of 4 plants (keep at least 8 inches away from foliage) and keep rotating them and you'll notice a difference!
