Indoor HM's Vision Northern Lights Grow Journal

Don't think I will try the fimming thing again, at least on Cash Crop. Did not respond well, growth of any kind stopped completly and is just now starting to grow again. Live and learn, at least now I can say I tried. Might turn out better than I think, but doesn't impress me as of now.
They say it will stunt it by a week but ull end up with 4 tops if done right wich I'm sure u did

Here are pics of the results of the fimm so far. She did start to grow again, and does appear like there could kinda be 4 growing points? What do you think? Also, just confirmed that those little --cking thrips are back. Started noticing symptoms about a week ago, so when I clipped a couple leaves from the CC, there they were. Don't know what to do really, got my feelers out and will be doing alot of research. My gut feeling says don't do anything to the NL and just let her finish, but symptoms seem to be progressing quickly and don't want to give up alot of yield or quality.

Got a bag of diatomacious earth to put down on top. @Waira recommeded to use for exact purpose you use sand. Will give a try for sure.

4/13/16 AM - Put a heavy layer of diatomacious earth over the medium surfaces of both plants. Gave them both a thorough soaking with 1/2 tbs neem oil/16oz water. Covered top and bottom of leaf surfaces. Dripping when done. Sprayed inside walls of tent with neem solution. This AM 4/14/16 all looks good. The pretty white hairs have faded some and appear to be taking a sudden reddening up. Hope I didn't hurt them, I will look for continued new growth, she was starting to fatten up pretty fast just before the application. My Cash Crop looks to have taken the treatment in stride. Continued rapid stretch from the side branches. The fimming was a disaster in my opinion. Nothing but one big ball shaped structure, not two or four growing points like I was hoping. The growing points just below the butchered top have taken over apical dominance, just as if I had just topped instead of fimmed. Pretty sure I did it right, maybe bad timing with the stretch just starting?? Anyways, waging war against the thrips again and I am going to win this damn war!! Must kill thrips, must kill thrips, must kill thrips. I have some spinosad (Captain Jacks) on the way and should be here in a couple days. Going to follow up treatment when it arrives. I want to get this little problem cleared up before the buds get much denser. Must kill thrips.

Been 36 hours since the neem oil treatment. Still many live adults. Any leaf that shows any damage still has from one to five or more live adults. The larvae appear to be all dead, but hard to see with only hand held lens. Does anyone know if it takes longer for the adults to die from neem? Or is it if they're alive now after 36 hours they probably are not going to die? @Waira can you chime in, please?
