Outdoor Hillbilly Rig-A New Adventure

Day 97 is harvest day for Black Strap. Trimmed the fan leaves and set it up to dry in the garage this morning as the humidity in the crawl space where it will hang was 90%

Moved it to the crawl space this evening. Going to have to keep an eye on the humidity. Want it to dry slow but worried I’ll mess it up after it growing so nicely

Wish me luck!

After 5 days hanging in the crawl space, I had to cut it up, put in brown paper bags and let the drying finish in the utility closet. The humidity was 70-80% and I got spooked that mold would set in. It’s dry after 8 days total. Trimmed and jarred for cure. Nice big/solid buds! So far, almost no no discernible smell. It wasn’t super pungent during the grow but the lack of fragrance after a decent slow dry is surprising. Ended up with 50g, which I’ll take all things considered…

Day 80-Gave it a big trim today. No real reason, just want to see what happens I guess.
Getting .6 liters a day, filtered water, AN Micro and AN Bloom every day. Getting Bud Candy every other feeding. Seems to be fattening up pretty well for being in such a small container.

I missed your update with the purple one getting the chop. That one really had nice deep color.

New one getting pretty close? Looks like a bit of foxtailing all over. I don't know if that's good or bad. Seems like just extra surface area for dense trichome development.

Thanks for the rep! Black Strap did turn out nice and dark.
Stone Fruit is hitting the home stretch. I’m guessing the stress I put on plants with crazy environmental swings causes the foxtailing? From what I understand it’s just aesthetics.

Day 86-Have company for the weekend, had to put Stone Fruit in the crawl space for a couple days. Worked out well since it’s only a few days until harvest. Gave it a good dose of plain old water.
I’ll be cooking dinner for another 5 hours. Tough job but someone has to do it!

Being productive on my day off for Juneteenth
IMG_8275.jpeg

Harvested a few buds 7 days ago on day 88ish. Been having trouble losing the aroma on my last couple of drys. Testing doing it a couple ways, dried a couple by hanging in the crawl space and a couple in a brown bag. Humidity in the crawl space ranged from 85-60%, temps from 58-71f. Neither is super pungent at this point. Will cure some in a jar with a 62 Bovida and some in a Grove bag. We’ll see…Any suggestions appreciated!

The rest of Stone Fruit is coming down today/tomorrow. Nice and amber, did fatten up also since I chopped the buds 7 days ago. Any recommendations on chopping after a day in the sun vs after a night of dark?
