New Grower Hi Guys... the whole shebang!!!

I was worried loads about humidity then I got another hygrometer and took different readings from around the tent and found that they differed quite a bit but they did read about the same in the same positions. So i now take an average...at this moment one is ready 40-53% and the other is reading 65-75%, so I will go with the average of around 50-60%... I'm going to get a third meter soon to fully cover the tent...
You should be able to pick a cheap dehumidifier on Amazon for about £20 that's perfect for tent size...I got one

I can vouch for the cheap dehumidifier. Works great in a closet or small space. If you live in a dry climate like I do the vicks humidifiers work well in small spaces, also on the cheap.

I have also had different readings from hygrometers but it was from different hygrometers in the same tent. I just concluded it was because they were cheap hygrometers but I never thought to take ONE and move it around the tent! Classic stoner mindset I suppose! Sometimes the solution is right there in front of you, and it still takes a well informed AFN member to lead you to it!

65-75 is pretty high...I would suggest you get some silica additive for your plants. Ive read a few time that silica is great for mold resistance. I would also get a fan for inner circulation. Anything that might help!!

...waiting for it to arrive from amazon..will let you know how it goes. Thanks bro.. good lookin out :karmacloud:

Very interesting! cheap solution for lack of fan/dehumidifier
The silica is added to increase the health of the plant and toughen the outer layers of the stalks. I cant speak for its effectiveness yet personally, but I will after this summer, as my outdoor RH throughout flower is 70%+.

Holy Shit brother.. 70%+.. just check out the reply Absorbia gave on Amazon when compared to silica -

Question:
How does using this compare with using Silica Gel?
Answer:
ABSORBIA is scientifically proven to be 4 times more effective at absorbing moisture than Silica Gel. For example 100 gms of silica gel would absorb 20-40 ml of moisture at most, 100 gms of ABSORBIA's desiccant will absorb 160-180 ml of moisture.

Hope this helps somewhat.. cos you've been great since I came on AFN bro, Thanks :pighug: Cheers..:chimp:

He was referring to using a silica additive to your feeding schedule not to absorb moisture. An example would be Rhino Skin by AN.

That's what I was thinking as well. However, I bet this stuff would work incredibly well for drying out material like mushrooms and such. I have used food grade silica for that purpose with some success. Wonder what it would take quantity wise for it to have an impact in the grow room, say a 4x4 tent? Pretty expensive if you would need a large quantity. I bet it would work well in that size area cost wise.

I thought my humidity was really high till I moved the humidity meter around the grow room - and took the average - it was fine!! - Think this was what @Slater had doNe!! :slap: ....Anyways.. been really busy and stoNed :baked:.. goNNa upload today..:chimp:
