looks clean, that is your exhaust fan? if so I thought you blew into a carbon filter. It appears you are sucking through filter. Please clarify for this noob.

yup, it'z suckin ;) all air/smell/xtra heat in the tent (source) goez through the carbon, and thus getz filtered, then blown out

...sorry fer buttin in bill, me gettin me coat...:smoking: ppp

Why not blow into carbon filter on outside of tent? 6 0f 0ne, half dozen of other? lol

ok ok, ya nitpicker  yes, that can be done, to bring nice filtered air into the tent, but if it ain't filtered before goin back out, well, it gonna stink, hehe, and sum peepz hafta be concerned w/that partic issue is all ;) comprende' :confused1: ppp

@Machamillion hey bud I thought the exact same thing to start and seen most do it the extraction way so followed along, although I do remember reading the filters support both ways but more effective when extracting and less likely for smell leaks too, but don’t take my word for it I’m a newbie too
Edit: just noticed @Frenjamin Banklin answer there about the pre filter wouldn’t fit inside and I never thought of that, the filter would end up blocked with dust and stuff quicker too I guess instead of being cleaned first by the slide on pre filter
Best reason for sure

We are all learning. love this place. I am extracting air out a 6" directly outside a window with no filters and zero smell. 4 inch intake with one of gf's cut up stocking on intake fan.

Unless you need extraction for heat reasons you can get away with no filter until they are in flower. I’ve kept a sealed room for four weeks to start a grow. Saves electricity. My heavy breathing in the tent daily was more than enough CO2

@Machamillion i wish I could put mine out the window it would save me some hassle haha but we gotta do what we gotta do to get those pretty ladies growing.
I’m running the 5 inch extractor but just doing passive intake with one of the mesh slots on the tent, seems to work well and hold decent enough negative pressure for when flowering time comes and gets stinky
:pass:
@Frenjamin Banklin I was thinking about this method myself and it’s in my bedroom so the co2 is constantly being produced by me too, but others say run 24/7 for fresh oxygen at night as the plant needs It, definitely gave me food for thought anyway

No problem, just ideas. From a super cheap grower. I’ve been putting everything I run on timers trying to minimize power consumption as one of my original goals was to see how cheaply I could be productive. If it’s early veg I may only run my oscillating fans run 30% of the time and then in veg 50% of the time then full flower I’ll run them 75-100 percent of the time. Same with most of my components as long as the reduced time running doesn’t effect output. I do t have a grow journal going currently but when I do you will see I’m also a crazy grower running 8 hours off on my lights.

Keep up the good work.
