Hi Everyone,

I have a small grow "room" in my attic. The attic is uninsulated (Well its insulated to keep heat in the house but not in the attic). I have the 1000w hps cool tubed in order to minimize the vertical space I need. I am having some issues with cold temperatures in night time however. At its coldest it has gotten down to 12 c. I am trying to find a simple solution to control heat. I am not opposed to space heaters but they would need a thermostat so they shut off at a certain temperature. I dont want to have a heater and thermostat wired from main panel just do to the difficulty of running the wire (panel is opposite side of house in finished basement)
I didnt know if anybody had come up with a good solution before. I also do not want to heat the attic itself as the cost would probably be prohibitive.
Thanks in advance!

Have the lights off at warmest point of day,or run 24/0 oil filled radiators have built in thermostats.remove glass from cool tube.
Good luck n keep er lit
:pighug:

The issue with that is I won't beable to have the plants as close to the fixture. And as I have vertical restrictions I need to beable to have the plants closer to the bulb... hence the cool tube. I will check into the radiators

Tube heaters with thermostat. They kick out a surprising amount of heat and don’t take up valuable space. Something like this vvvv Obviously you want a plug on the end, have a look on that auction site, they’re pretty cheap and will do the job.

I'm dealing with a similar situation. I got a fan controller for exhaust, helps some. Currently running 19/5 but plan on 24/0 for a few months coming...will help a little more. I am also using a ceramic heater to heat the room but that's $$. I'm interested in ideas

If you get stuck, gimme a shout. I’ll happily send one onto you.

No you won't, he needs 110vac 60Hz and not UK 230vac50Hz.

But tubular heaters are available everywhere, he'll find one easily enough.

Depending on space, you need clear space around the pots at floor level, is a small fan heater, NOT a "Handy Heater" thing which I don't trust, so warm air blows around at pot level. Cheap as hell and forced heating will always beat convection, just don't have it blowing at pots.
