Extraction Hash. Tips, pics and whatever.

Alright hash fiends. It has been 6 months now since I had my attempt at making Temple Ball. Seems a lonnngg time ago in lockdown.

Well my birthday has passed, and it has been difficult to try and keep my hands off it, but I made it. Party time.

I cut it open, to reveal this. My cutting razor went straight through as though it was butter, did not even have to heat it.

You can see the crust around the outside, leading into an almost melty centre. The smoke knocked me right on my arse as well, nice and smooth.

I have another 9g or so of collected Amnesia Haze bud trichs. This is going into the next ball, which I intend to keep for a year or more. I'll pic it up when done.

I didn't see Bubble Bowls in this thread. Anyone use these?
I use them to make my dry ice hash. I usually use the 120 micron bowl. I've had them for a year or more. They've worked flawlessly up to this point.

Cool! Thanks for your input. I figure they would work better than bags for the amount of material I'd work.
 
Great thread. I had viewed the video of the young black woman before, but Frenchy Cannoli gave a good education leading up to the demonstration. I have loads and loads of trim that I've been meaning to run through my trim bin screen which should give me a ton of dry sift. Can't wait to get after it and make some temple balls.

Does anyone know what the clear plastic Frenchy used was? It seemed quite a bit thicker and more durable than plastic food wrap.

I think it was Ziploc freezer bags which are thicker...
After re-watching the Frenchy video and doing a little search, I found there is thick cellophane rolls you can buy to wrap gift baskets and such. Just ordered some on Ebay.

Edit: Iced water like in bubble bags or the washing machine ?
How much grams of kief in that ball?
Used bubble bags & gentle stirring action, frozen herb placed into pre- chilled 5 gallon bucket -water temp was 34.5f, let sit 15 min & 15-20 min more stirring (the ball Wgt I believe was around 5-7 grams)
that’s the size I like.
Made several more this week using dry frozen Sugar leaf shake & marbles “dry sifting”-then keif heated & hot bottle rolled several times & then compressed & rolled in palms to form balls...
Below r pics of homemade Thai sticks
(no no no opium lacing, just rolled preformed rolled bud in graded frozen hash, parchment paper rolled again to form the crust- if I do say myself they turn out nice...(the trick is getting the right size bud about 5” long off a fresh plant...only dry two days & then rolled to form it the rolled in the hash) Since the herb is still drying/curing need to be careful to roll it up in parchment with wire wrapped around it (pic) & put it vertically in a dry warm spot for 6-7 days for curing (keep in mind I use small narrow buds only about 21/2-3 grams Wgt. so they dry cure faster). Now they get put into mason jars for more curing-several months open jar now & then. If cured right when u crack off a piece it is homogenized !!!
