Photoperiod Has anyone tried seed to flowering plant under 12/12 lighting from the start?

With some of the most ruly landraces it is the only way to grow.

I know a few who does it, they do mix some 4000k and 6400k lights in there as well though, and they only do it with stretchy strains.

I've effectively done this with some photos outside,
because I'm sub-tropical, and my natural light cycles are close to 12/12.
Different strains will take different length of time to show sex / flower.

One Northern Lights took about ... 4 weeks (IIRC).
A few Mandala Safaris took about ... 3-4 weeks (IIRC).

This season I took some F2 of the Safaris (the above are already F1),
and they are taking maybe 3-4 weeks as well, effectively.

So, yeah, can do it. Of course, yield nothing like vegging big for photos...

If you want some better grows to check out,
Sannies Seeds (Google it) has some.
In particular, Sannies Jack (Jack Herer bred out to F7 or F8 or something now),
he grows them often straight from 12/12.
He's trying to breed for from seed SoG.

And, the cool thing is, for the Sannies Jack,
and some of the other Sannies strains like Killing Fields, Silver Fields,
Shackzilla, and so on, he has info on number of plants per sq meter (10 sq ft).

Here, for 2 weeks veg, he does 5 plants / 1 m2.
And for no veg, straight 12/12, he does 9 or 16 plants / 1 m2.

He has similar info / data for other strains.

And check out @islandgrower 's perpetual journal.
He's tropical too, so pretty much 12/12 all the way...

I grew Sannies Jack 12/12 from seed in 12l smartpots in rockwool cubes with irragination system. 6 plants in 0,6m2. They grew up tall so i suppercropped them to fit them in my low space. It took them about 14 weeks from the seed and the buds were really BIG! One of the best harvest I’ve ever had but they were not as potent as I expect. Maybe I overfeed them but they respond well by the size ;)

I saw great results with Dutch Passion’s PowerPlant.

Generally mostly sativa dominant plants seems to be good for 12/12 and the sea of green method.

It can been done but results will vary and mostly rely on genetics used.
Sativa dominant strains seem to work best for this, it usually takes about 3 weeks for the plant to mature enough before it will show sex..
ICMAG has a extensive thread I believe its called "12/12 from seed".

In the past when breeding photo x auto projects...I'd sometimes flip the photo period parent line plants at 2.5 -3 weeks to help get an idea of what the finished auto project might look like at say F4.
They seldom get much bigger than autos, with some exceptions.
