So I was reading the instructions again and came across this!

" 3. Drain the water. (Save solution for compost pile) Do not worry about the pH of this soak water you drain off. From here on out, your plant and our medium will self-adjust pH and stabilize. You will see when you meter test your return water after your first flood and drain, which you will pH to 5.6-6.0, that the pH has stabilized. "

So anyways, I got the transplant accomplished and I also put a paper plate over top of the medium to help keep algae down! Here's a pic! :headbang:

I gave the girls their first watering/feeding yesterday! 3 grams of MegaCrop, 9 ml of SM-90 and a few drops of Superthrive in 3 gallons of water ph's to 5.6. Also, there was a Purple Nugget that survived the first germination attempt. I had some extra mix, so I potted her up in a 1 gallon plastic pot. I seeing some really funking looking black mold in the cup. Also, there's more algae growing in the 3 gallon pots, (especially on the rockwool cubes). @coalminer any tips for controlling algae? I'm covering the pots completely now, but I'd like to get rid of what's there already! Anywho, here's some pics! :headbang:

I covered mine completely in dry sim mix with my drip system pushed into the mix below the dry dressing.

Yeah! I read that and saved some extra mix for that purpose, Then I decided to use it on the ugly duckling!

I'm going to try and keep it covered, and apply Sensiyzm at regular intervals, (as been suggested in my other thread). :headbang:

:yoinks: Houston! We have a problem! :yoinks:

Day 13 and the Purple Nuggets is looking on the funky side! I fed today with 3 grams of MegaCrop and 15 ml of Sensizyme mixed in 2 gallons of bubbled tap water. Ph going in was 5.6 and afterwards the runoff was up to 6.0. :yoinks: I ph'd the solution back to 5.6 and dipped again. Ph was 5.7 afterwards on the runoff. @Waira can you tell me what's going on here? :thanks:

PH runoff was fine with the Psychofruit! Here's a pic and it seems to be doing ok! :headbang:

:smoking: hey bud.... so, what's the pH and TDS/EC of the tap water? And did you get the same for the nute solution before it went in?
... I'm totally unfamiliar with this product, so I have no idea how inert this stuff is for pH buffering and ion exchange,... that elevation in pH is action from the root zone, and that also ties in with pH buffering once in there,.. after that pour through, it came out nearly the same, so residence time in there is necessary for that pH elevation to happen,... Whatever is happening, the roots are hating it, and the plant is showing it with those odd mixed symptoms,.... hydro pH swings can do this....

Tap water has always been fine, unless they changed something! 110 TDS, 7.5 ph and I always bubble for at least 24 hours. This medium is suppose to be similar to growing in Rockwool cubes. PPM's gong in were 450 at 5.6 ph. I've been seeing a fungus gnat here and there flying around and I wonder if that could be it? I've never had an issue with gnats using coco. Btw, I make sure to calibrate my Oakton PH meter weekly, (last time was Sunday when I gave 1st feeding/watering after transplant)! :headbang:

It's been 3 days since the last feeding and despite my best effort, the girls are still alive! :smoking:
I've never kept a record of my feedings. If needed, I'd just go back and see if the info was in the journal. But since I haven't been growing that long, (since 2015), and only a year indoors, I've decided to start keeping a chart of my feedings, PPMs and PH before and after. So far it looks like this!

NOV 10

PURPLE NUGGETS PPMs IN 470 PPMs OUT 479 PH IN 5.5 PH OUT 6.0

PSYCHOFRUIT PPMs IN 470 PPMs OUT 479 PH IN 5.5 PH OUT 5.7

As you can see something's still going on in the root zone, but Purple Nuggets actually looks a little better! Both plants seemed to have grown a little over the pass 3 days and I see no ill effects on the new growth. So hopefully, they will pull through this little hiccup! :headbang:

I have to apologize for my absence. I have had some issues in life, family, and with this technique.

I was trying to get two plants to germ at the same time. After a month of trying, I have given up, and have decided to just grow the one. It is a Tahoe OG, the second one in this pot. The issues arise when I am applying the drip design I had set up. I just had a hard time dripping into the roots from the side. So for the first few waterings I have been applying the feed manually at the base of the plant.

Once during harvest, somehow the medium dried out, and I killed one of the plants.

Now it seems that I don't have any issues keeping the plant moist because I am also having the algae problems. I have been using Seirra Natural Science 244, mildew control.

So since I have had issues with the plants dying, I didn't want to put up crappy pics if the stuff was my fault. Once I stopped worrying about the PPM, the plant started to thrive. I know I will have to adjust as I go, but I think I have it dialed in enough to be confindent to grow out this Plant. I also put more of the SIM mix on top to help with the algae.

I hope that is satisfactory. Regardless, you will get a couple of complete grows out of this, hopefully.

So here are some pictures...
