Long time smoker and first time grower. Here is my story..

seed$man seeds. Germinated in water cup > paper towel method. Left the sprouts in a small plastic container with natural soil(sourced from river bed). Cotyledon leaves appeared in 24-36 hrs. Left in the same pot for 3-4 days and then moved to a 10L pot with grow medium that was pre-wet. The medium is bought from a store: CocoPeat, Vermicompost, Perlite, Vermiculite, Sand, RiceHusk & Vermi Wash.

I am growing in an OPEN balcony on a 10th floor(without any barriers other than the roof...open all sides) in India with temps ranging from 25-35 with humidity anywhere btw 30-70%. I move the plants inside when its raining and during night times. The plants gets some DIRECT sun light but the weather is sunny for the most part(i.e bright day light). Using RO water(that I drink!)

They are just growing too slow. What am I doing wrong.

Yes, I did tinker with the plants initially and "possibly" over watered(ensured the medium is moist and not too damp). Dont know the pH levelsas there are no reliable pH meters in India(yeah, go figure)

Please Help - WTF am I doing wrong?

My guess is you need more light. Can you order a pH tester online? RO water has nothing in it. No minerals, no nutriets.

An additive of some kind is necessary when watering with ro, so correct ph is obtained. Best order a ph meter through the internet.

Will check out the pH and dry soil.

My dear gf felt that some light is better than no light..so she put a 10W white LED on top(check pic 1). Is that silly?
The room sized windows I have, are they ok in terms of light or should I put them out doors(rather than by the window)? The pic was taken on a cloudy day.

hey @cornflakes10 and :welcome: to afn! :toke: and well, me agree with all the rest so far...they most def need waaaay more light than a 10w led, lol...and that soil lookz, well, funky sumhow :rolleyes2: as far as size, they look more or less right for their age, but they def need more light (nodz)...at this stage, all the growth is goin on underground, but the leavez need light in order to work the miracle of photosynthesis & get energy ;)

ppp & :goodluck:

Grothwise I don't see an issue for a little over a week from sprout.

The stretch in the seedlings is due to lack of light.
You can support the long stems by adding soil to the top of the pot, cannabis will throw roots farther up.
RO is never an "only" thing, something must be added, cal/mag at minimum.

Cannabis likes airy mediums, that looks a little compacted, which will cause it to stay saturated longer than ideal.

Thank you @Arthur @420Forever @STILLSMOKIN @AutoWonders and @DevilDog_0651

The pH levels could be the culprits. With R.O water Ph is around 7.2 and the tap water is at 8. I am using tap water now. I am fixing the water pH levels and I ordered 2000W grow lights!!

Can you experts recommend some nutrients? Here in India we dont have sophisticated ones for pot(let alone autoflower). Following are my options..any advice will be AWESOME!!

You should be able to order canna specific nutrients online. I have heard lots of people just using generic veg and bloom nutes tailored for fruit bearing plants. Surely that is better than nothing at all.

ya, me agree with devildog & sumthin is better than nuthin...jus don't overdo it ;) ppp
