Indoor Growing Scrog

DOA, or 420: When I've had my lights near the canopy at previous grows, I've had short, thick and healthy stem growth. This at widely recommended ppfd and dli. I look at 420s plants near the end of stretch, and guess at light-to-canopy distance in the photos, and wonder if that distance, whatever it is, is important -- to get the stretch required. Any thoughts on this? Thank you!
great question! following along

But 420method works for photos also? Or it works only if it’s 24/0 lights?
The 420method will work no problem with Photo's, they're different gravy. If your running autos and wanting to emulate the method than 12/12 will produce a mediocre example. You need the explosive growth, lights full blast, 24/7 if you want to pull a 1lb a plant.

Gotcha👊 Is there any difference when to SCROG photos? On day 1 when you flip or 10 days later like 420autoflower mentioned? I have a lot of space so that’s not a problem if it’s stretches. Thanks for sharing your expierence😊

Got it! Cheers Mongoose, that is pushing them hard! I'm replicating what you have your light set to, and I'm seeing some rapid growth now and the seedling is handling it well! So I'm pretty happy about that as all my past Auto grows have been slow to start. Cool thanks for that tip on the diffuser. I have the Photone App but not the quartz diffuser.. Definitely something I'd like to get my hands on soon! I do have some diffusion gels from my old theatre lighting days that I'm using, seems to go alright. Thanks for the solid advice my friend! :thanks:
I bought the diffuser at max 10% less ppfd with it

So photo plants that have been flipped to bloom can't grow well with 18-24 hour/day light? Photos in bloom phase need ≤12 hour/day of light?
Once you “flip” the light schedule to 12/12 the photoperiod plants must remain in 12/12 until harvest. Or 11/13, 13/11, whatever your light schedule is for flowering.
You'll not reach the full potential of the 420method with Autos on 12/12 lights, it's no good.:nono:
i agree

I would like to clarify. Do you need to SCROG photoperiod before the flip or 10 days after a flip like 420autoflower said? Everyone says 3-7 days before the flip. So how does it work guys?

I dont know really, it would have to depend on your end goal with photoperiods. As far as i understand it the 420method is based on autoflowers. My personal grow my photoperiods got a couple weeks under the net before i flipped. But thats just my case.
