Would it be soak half the pot in water and let it absorb? I dont think coco will hold water quite like peat
I think I know what you mean. Place the whole bag with plant in a tub of water and rehydrate the coco from the outside in. I suppose you could do that once in a while if your sides are drying out too much between feeding because you don't water every day. Comments anyone? :pass:

Appreciate it @Hypathetical Gardener but I'm not quite sure what you mean about 1/2 volume and reset. Can you elaborate a little more about what your doing to keep things moist throughout the pot. I think I waited too long after germination to water the whole pot and by then it was to late and the sides had dried and hardened. The problem with that is the roots are not making it to the sides and then your not getting the oxygen benefits of using a grow bag or air pots. That's what they are designed for. So, if they aren't reaching the sides your plant will never grow to a fuller potential. :pass:
Yes. I was instructed to pout 1.5 gals of water into my 3 gal fabric pot. Let it rest for 30 mins and pour out any water that hadnt drained or been absorbed.

My instructor said that was also an option. Let it absorb for 30 mins and remove excess. Coco doesnt hold water the same, but the premise is the same. It got too dry and now is somewhat hydrophobic. Just over water to kinda force it to absorb and either water les but more often, or if you were like me, water slightly more more often. [emoji23][emoji23]

I try to build the dirt up on the sides so the the water is channeled back towards the stem. As the plant grows the roots always bull up and lift the center up and sheds water to the edges. The edges are really good at conducting water away from your roots. Might also want put some cover gravel or pebbles on the surface to diffuse the water a little so it doesn't shed to the edges as bad. Edges are one of the side affects of trying to get nature indoors.
Would adding more soil/coco throughout the grow help to alleviate this? Maybe fill in the sides? Or would that be causing a compactiin issue?

I don't know if I would do that because the issue is keeping it moist and not drying out between feedings. I will be experimenting on this during the next grow. First, I think I under watered from the beginning. Second, I think I'll try watering less and more often, like every day, instead of like a half gallon at a time for 2 or 3 days until it gets light. That isn't working. What about spraying the bag or the air pot points with water every day? :pass:

I water daily. So my issue was fear of overwatering caused me to give half a liter a day on average to a 3 gallon pot. They needed more during stretch/veg and flower. I wasnt supplying it. Im taking measures now to prevent that in the future.

Hey smow! Room looks great bro, gonna get some good growin done no doubt and some tasty lookin buds you got there.
I may have an idea for the water penetration issue, @Green Goblin has some stellar organic techniques, and uses Castile soap which helps with water penetration and aids in preventing soil from going hydrophobic. No idea whether this is applicable to coco, but could be worth some research
