New Grower Gratefully green husband

@Smowkabowl
Thanks for the tag and sorry for the delay. Still processing this seasons od harvest.

Love following along with first grows and growers like you. Any looks like you are well on your way to a successful first grow!

Peace
Thanks for checking in. I hope you enjoy the ride. :pass:I can use all the advice I can get.

Help needed! I have some sort of deficiency going on here. I noticed some discoloration, copper spotting and deep purple stems. Starting at the base of the leaves it appears light green and mottled with copper spots radiating out toward the tips although it hasn't gone that far. Also the stems appear abnormal deep purple in color. What do y'all think it could be?

Thanks for all your help everyone. :peace:

Purple stems may be genetic. The spots are a Cal-Mag deficiency but might be a PH problem. The plants appear a little lime green which would indicate under-feeding or a PH problem. If you are in soil/coco you need an Accurate 8 soil PH probe to test the PH in the root zone. Any other measurement (ie run-off) = bad information.

hmm im rubbbish at the derfs/toxs game..purple can be P and as its flowering needs are greater, can be genetic to.lil brown spots 9/10 its cal.mag is a palenss between the veins,i could be wrong but as they come inthe same bottle cal/mag its handy.
as always dont take advice of eejits 4th opinion needed.
if alls rosy in the garden oh isnt needed, but as soon as things go south ph is key.
good luck n keep er lit.

Thanks @Mañ'O'Green , Thanks @archie gemmill :pass: The 1st thing I thought was Ca/Mg because I use LED blue spectrum, coco and RO water with only 35 to 45 ppm of Ca/Mg. I'll check the pH again, I have a pH probe that has been measuring about 6.8 to 7 in the soil. I may have to buy a better probe but I pH adjust my water to 6.3 to 7.0 (usually around 6.8). How basic (or acidic for that matter) can the pH be before it starts affecting a plants color? The stems on this plant have always been purple, I just don't recall it being that dark, so I will not worry about that. I'll get some cal-mag and see if that corrects the deficiency. :peace:

may tap water is 160ppm i dont know how much of that is cal, guess not much.i tend to add 1-2ml of cal/mag from day 35ish.i think you need more.purple could be natural if its been there before the spotting.
:pighug:
edit....coco? needs lower ph than soil 5.3-59 ish i think.
and lots of cal/mag

You are running some kind of hybrid soil/coco mix right? This is what happens when you want to reinvent the wheel! It is hard to help when you move outside of the normal grow methods of either soil or coco. Coco = hydro and nutrients are fertigated in every watering and PH is just like hydro 5.6 to 6.4. Soil on the other-hand is fertigated less often and PH is 6.0 to 7.0.

RO water needs more Cal=Mag plus LED lights up the Cal-Mag need. I think you need to up the entire PPMs.

If I'm not mistaking
@pop22 Runs a soil coco mix at 6.2 ish.
But maybe check him out.
I'm about to try a 70%coco 30%soil mix my self.
But as far as diagnosis.
I'm not great. Could be a lot of different things. Start with pH and ppm. Then move on to the def/tox charts

:thanks: Your right, I'm going outside the box but hopefully it won't be that hard to figure out. I ordered some Botanicare Cal-Mag plus. How should I use it if I'm watering about 64 oz. every 2 to 4 days right now?
