Old Reviews Good carbon filter? What are you using and would reccomend?

Hey community, just wanted to know what brand of carbon filters you guys were using? Its starting to stink a bit here and I need to get the smell under control asap. Ive been looking at some on Ebay but theres just too many to pick from and I dont wanna get stuck with a dud. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!:thumbs:

I am not sure about duds guy.
You are bound to have a few hydro stores down in the valley.
I called around talked to several of the places around here, One guy gave me a price competitive with anything I found online, so I went for it. It was a "Can"
I am not sorry one bit after getting mine, a bunch of peace of mind for under $100. Besides, those guys know if you buy something that doesn't work, you are likely to go to their competitor.
I haven't seen many of them with brands on them, so I am guessing a bunch of them are from the same few sources and just have a "manufacturer" logo sticker plastered on them or have branded boxes they slip the wholesalers blank box into.
The more I have shopped them (the hydro stores), the more I realize a bunch of these guys are all getting their products from one or two wholesalers, so i don't mind leaning on the local guys for better prices. Just like getting a little action, if you don't ask, the answer is always "no".

@JM thanks for the info JM, but I think that would be overkill for my small space. Although there is a small scale ozone generator called the gt50 that Im considering. Its about $50. But even then I would like to have some sort of carbon filtration.

@Jackal I'll go ahead and look into those brands, Jackal. Thanks man. I did a quick search of the forum but wasn't able to find any threads, but thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

@gtron Unfortunately there weren't any hydro shops in the Valley, gtron. Now im attending school in SA & even here am having a hard time finding a local hydro shop, that's why I was trying to get something off of ebay; a nice little filter to connect to my current 4" ducting.

Texas Hydroponics has a store in SA, they will match any of their online prices and they often have good deals in store that aren't online.
Their store close to me has decent guys running things.
Are you using a tent or a grow box or a closet? Cause they take up some real estate.

2x2x5 closet space. I was hoping to get something with a 12 inch lenght and diameter of 8-10 inches cause things are already pretty cramped in there with the light, fan, and small dehumidifier.

I'm about to bite the bullet and get my first store bought filter for exactly the same size area. From everything I've heard the consensus seems to be on phresh filters, they have 6x12 with a four inch flange I'm looking at.
