New Grower Gone 13 grows Fast Buds LSD-25 as pure perlite hempie.

Definitely glad to be following along, this is a real different and interesting take on growing. :smoking:

Thanks Mordecai! It is probably the easiest way to grow a decent amount of weed with the least amount of hassle and work. I highly recommend it for any new grower who wants a simple and relatively inexpensive way to grow a couple of ozs.

After thinking about it for awhile, I decided to post regular updates once a week. Not much going on now as the seedling continues to grow well. She is due for another light feeding today and should be ready for transplant to her final home around Tuesday. Someone on this forum, I think it might have been TaNg, said that the seedling stage was boring.....I kinda agree.....once you get them through the initial phase, not much happens except growth.....which, I agree, is a good thing! For me, preflower is when things start to be interesting.....watching the massive changes that take place as the plant struggles to reproduce!

I will post an outline for setting up and using the hempy grow.....A lot of you probably know more about it than I do, but I wanted to set down the basics and my reasons for choosing it in case someone else is moved to try it.
please do, I know nothing of this kind grow

You're welcome! Have you seen puffed glass? It is similar to perlite in that it is baked and that makes it puff up, but it is made from recycled glass that is otherwise mostly trash. The stuff I have seen so far has been big like a thumb tip, so maybe too big for what you are doing. But, if it could be made from smaller aggregate to begin with, it would be a great way to get rid of some huge glass piles. They tumble it first of course so it is not sharp. The shop where I found it is using it in place of volcanic pumice and perlite, and they said it has way more surfaces to catch nutrients and liquid. Pretty cool stuff, wish I knew the brand name.

Day 35 in the life of the Acid Queen. She continues to grow well with no real problems except she seems a little smaller than other LSD-25s I have seen at this stage. I'm going to lower the light a few inches and keep a careful eye on her.
.....
Also, started LST today......a little early for me but she seems to be a very strong plant. I love LST.........both of my other grows ended up with a great circular structure and covered in buds after their LST.

First full strength feeding today.....by that I mean the first feeding to loss so she she has a full resevoir of fresh nutes to draw on as she gets her roots lower in the container. See pic below. The food consisted of 5Gm/gal and Bio-Root 5ml/gal pH 6.0. The Bio-Root was added to strengthen the stems as they adapt to the LST.

Temp range in low 70s and humidlity in the 60% range with the help of my humidifier. Light distance is at 29" Light duration is 24/0.

Wandered over here from LS, looks good and the details of what works and what doesn't, especially not being afraid to document mistakes, really helps other growers too :pass:
Keep up the good grow and having fun :smoking:

Thanks for the input @MordecaiAlliVanAllenOshea ! I have seen these things done with just about everything you can think of.....from coco to aquarium gravel. I prefer small perlite but I know people that swear by a larger medium.
