New Grower "GodAmJT's Perpetual Greenery"

Sounds like fun ... have you seen the Kratzky grow that pop22 has going ...

That grow is awesome, i would just build a littl bubbler for that pc case.
Thre are these noiseless really small air pumps, get 1-2 of these 100w led chips from ebay and run them with 50% or less.
Get 2 ONA bars and the smell will be no problem.
(just my 2 cents)

What's up Chester??

Yep, I've been tracking his grow from the beginning and it's been something I'm interested in, however I don't think I'm as advanced as he is with plants, so I'd hate to ruin some seeds trying it out.. I am going to do a little more re-reading of his thread because I know he has been using clones, which seem like a better solution for the Kratky, but I think if I got a seed or 2 in some rapid rooters and dropped them in a netpot, I could maybe pull it off.. I'm actually kinda interested in trying some soil to see what the big deal is with soil grows.. I'm even sorta confused as to how I would water soil plants, and how I would mix up my nutes, because hydro has been my mainstay for the last 4 grows.. I can't imagine it's too hard, but I have some of that FFOF soil, so I need to cut it down a little so it's not so hot.. I have some Farmer's xxxxxxxx Compost (40lbs bag), GH Ancient Forest and can get me some perlite to make me a small batch of soil.. I was thinking of using only a 1qt or 2qt pot, or perhaps even making a custom, low-profile container that spans most of the interior of the case, so the roots have plenty of room, and I have plenty of medium to spread the plant out with.. I was also thinking of what Weinerwoods did with his, as I have a bunch of tiny 3w LEDs that I may throw in for supplemental lighting..

I was thinking 6x 23w 2700K CFLs and then 4 of those LED lights in the corners.. Not even sure it'll do anything, but more light seems to be better, no matter how you look at it, and at such a low draw, I can't imagine it would hurt!!!

Wow!~ Cool you guys talking my thread. That's what I want, others to try new things. A mini Kratky bucket in a pc case would de awesome! I bet it would be a good match. Also, if your considering a pc case grow, I think the little Red/Blue LED spotlights would be great. If you've seen my DIY LED grow light, I'm using it it and its growing some damn fine weed in a small space. More PAR, less heat than CFL. And I've been looking and for a pc case, using GU110 sockets would allow tighter spacing than my standard ( U.S. ) e27 screw in sockets. You can get the 15 watt spotlights for $5-$7 each on ebay, and they have GU10 based lights also. Worth a look!

You know, I don't think I've seen anyone here do a space bucket.............

Well, it's been a couple weeks, and I'm already fiending to grow again, so here's my next project.. Unfortunately, I'm not sure how I could do a miniature recirculating top-feed, but I'm still thinking and planning.. I have some soil and amendments that I can use, which I may end up doing anyway, so I can keep the plant low and tied down and with less maintenance/attention.. It's going to be micro, and I already have almost everything I need, with the exception of a couple new PC fans, which I'll get sometime this week.. I'm hoping to have everything assembled and test-ran by the end of next week, so I can start germing a couple seeds.. I also need to do some more reading on micro grows and smell abatement.. I was almost thinking of running 1 autoflower, just bent ALL over; almost like a flux/mainline, but with less beating on the plants.. I'd like to basically lay the plant down and run it around the inside of the case..

CFLs will be the lights, and like I said, I'm thinking this will be a soil grow, because I just down know how I could pull off a mini recirculating top-feed, but trust me when I say that I'm going to be looking into it!!!! I think it's possibly, but I would probably just use a starter block and then throw it into a 4"x4" rockwool block, and maybe put that in a pot or container.. The res would be a small plastic tote (~1gal at least) underneath.. I'd just have to find a small enough pump that would work.. I can make the halos and I have plenty of piping..

GROWING IS AN ADDICTION, DAMMIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For a small scale top feed drip, I would check out KSJAuto's grows/setup. He grows on the micro scale (1 plant in a smallish space at a time) and use a top feed system similar to like a waterfarm sort of. No waterpump necessary once you get the airlift going. It's kind of cool to have JUST an air pump handling the aeration and the top feed all at once... I don't have his exact setup but I have been tinkering with something like it. I HATE water pumps.. they always get clogged and shoot water everywhere when I forget to turn them off changing out a rez... shit like that.. I hate them lol :{{{

Great looking harvest man... Eagerly awaiting smoke report ;D

Not to derail the thread, but it seems relevant I just started doing 3x space buckets Here.

I think you could do a single one with a UFO top, not very hard. Tons of room for improvement/creativity... not a lot of room for the plants... Honestly still can't say if I like them.. haha...

I have a few of those 12-13w LED's... I was surprised that they actually worked fairly well for veg in a PC Case. I ended up flowing in a full cabinet, but I had a small plant veg fine with just LED's.

Hey pop: I have a bag full of red, blue and white LEDs that have full leads to them, and I have a couple small capacitors around, as I was hoping to make an LED light a while back since I have everything on hand.. I'm almost thinking about trying to find some 5w LEDs though, because I could use fewer with better results..

Animatey: I would LOVE to use my MarsII in a closet for a micro grow, but the PC case is about as big as I can go, so between what Weinerwoods has done, and what I've seen on a couple other forums, I'm going to try to use CFLs and LEDs for a couple reasons..

A) The room the case will be in NEVER goes above 64F during the day, and doesn't drop below 57F at night, so I was thinking of doing 18/6 to keep it smaller, but have the dark period during the day, so temps don't get too low.. Otherwise, I'm going to need to put my heat mat on a timer, and somehow fit it in there.. I think the CFLs would heat it up just enough to keep it in a safe range, but not too much, as I have a plan on how to run the fan to maximize ventilation..

B) I have about 95% of everything I need, so I don't need to invest anymore money; something that is in extreme shortage lately.. I would have to get some rockwool, which isn't expensive, and I may need to get a couple new bottles of nutes as I had put my box of nutes into storage, but it's been damn cold, below freezing, which I am sure has ruined some of the nutes.. I suppose I'll see when I get over there today.. If anything is ruined, that sucks because nutes are probably the most expensive part of the whole operations, and when I already had EVERYTHING (include Floralicious+ - $38/bottle, KoolBloom - $24/bottle, RapidStart - big bottle), it'll be a bit painful to lose $500 worth of nutes, all because I had no where to store them.. At least with soil, there are other options I can use for nutes in the mean time, even if I went with a 2-part nute concoction and just skip the extra additives.. Not ideal, but definitely doable..

I'm going to look for more LED solutions though because I feel like I can fit waaaaaaay more LEDs in there and get the same amount of light, but we'll see!! I would LOVE to make a mini- cooltube and get a 75w HPS, and just rock that, but that would be a serious investment because I'd then need a ballast and a socket, but I can dream, right?? lol

If you can water it a couple times a day (auto water) you could do a simple Hempy grow using Osmacote Plus ... there's a grow here using that technique and it seems like a great idea ... nice to have choices ....

Dammit Chester!!!!! lol All of these ideas; you're killing me!!! Now I've got even more reading to do!!!!! :)

My cousin is currently growing hempy buckets and I need to ask him how he does his.. I have the timers.. I have everything BUT the stuff for the hempy, but if I can hook up with him in the next week or so, I could get a tutorial and then run with it!!

How're your Mangos doing?? They must be getting close!!!! :)

I would love to do a Hempy when I start growing at home again ... especially the one using Osmacote Plus cause it's supposed to be so easy ...

I expect to harvest the first Mango around mid month with the Jock and second Mango coming down first part of February ... now that I'm using the bathtub at my grow location I'm running out of lights ...

:tiphat:
