New Grower "GodAmJT's Perpetual Greenery"

I'll do an update on the AKR and the WWs in a little bit.. Got a lot going on today!!

Congrats for your harvest, buds look furry with all those trics!
:slap:

Thanks man!! I think the AKR is gonna stay in it's respective 1gal pot because I don't think it's going to get much more vertical.. The WWs are starting to fill out, and there are roots all the way to the bottom of the container on those.. I am thinking the stronger of the 2 WWs will go into the real airpot and the runt will go into the homemade airpot once I return from my trip, and then I can work on lighting a little bit.. The weather is cooling off around here, so thankfully I won't need to run an AC anymore, or even worry about venting during the day.. This will be my last grow for a little while since I will be moving, and will have to start everything up all over again, but if I get into a big enough place, I may make some changes to my grow and try to maximize the space and keep it as perpetual as possible.. The Zambeza JH being as much as it was is great because that should last me a couple months.. The way the AKR looks, it's going to be a relatively quick finisher, and I bet the WWs will be a long-haul, so they'll probably finish about mid-to-end of December.. A lot of the journals I've read of people with AKR said it was a quick, nearly 60-70 day plant meaning I've only got about 21-25 days or so left and the bud sites are getting frosty.. I will take some more pictures later, but I've got some things I've gotta do..

Congrats on a nice harvest ... :Hookah:

Maybe I need to stop speaking so soon....

I came back from my extra-long weekend trip to some not-so-good news... AKR looks very VERY rough.. Almost the whole plant is yellowing, starting with the oldest leaves first.. I fed her a decent nute mix, ppm's around 300, which I now admit might be a little on the conservative side of things, but after 24hrs after feeding from a 4-day no-feeding is definitely not bouncing back like I had hoped.. The WWs are looking great, for the most part, although they are starting to show their signs of deficiencies, too..

Soooooo.. Another rehab session is in order for my plants.. I was really hoping that I wouldn't have to go through this again, but at least I'm not worried about spider mites or gnats this time around, as the two products I used seemed to have eradicated both sets of colonies.. If you guys have any questions about what I used, let me know as one of the products is indeed an organic spray, while the other, I don't think is organic, but it worked great and is used in fish/plant ponds that have mosquito issues.. As my mentor said to me, "Hey, if it's safe for fish, plants and aquatic life, then it must be safe for humans, right??"

And a side note..

So I've got my last harvest of the Zambeza Jack Herer Auto in a 2qt jar. I put it in the jar after drying for about 5 days after the wash.. I felt they might have been slightly over dried, so I still threw them into the jar with a Boveda and a monitor, and left for my trip.. I came home and it was at ~60% humidity.. Keep in mind, I was gone 4 days.. Over the last 2 days that I've been home, the humidity has dropped to 55%, and that's after I put a second Boveda in to see if I could slow down the drop in RH.. So far, doesn't look like it's working, and when I opened the jar a minute ago, it still has a bit of a hay smell, so I may have inadvertently ruined the tastiness of this bud.. Kinda sucks, but we'll see what happens.. When I move some of the buds, they produce a great smell though, very fruity.. The taste is great so far, which is going to kill me if I can't get these things to cure a little more..

My last harvest has been in the jar nearly 2 months and it still smells like hay ... I'm going to work on slowing the drying process down to at least a week since 3-5 days isn't working for me ... good luck w/ your plants ...

Well well well.. Another update...

AKR is doing whatever.. I don't even know where to begin.. Sorta had some more pH issues, but the WWs didn't seem as phased by it as the AKR did, but the AKR is so bushy, I don't know how badly it was affected.. I guess 4 days without water was nearing the limit before the plant croaked. It's been over a week and a half nursing it back, and it's still right on the fringe of being healthy.. Looks like the ends of the main colas have foxtailed a little, so the shape may be kinda funny.. A lot of the pistils turned orange during that time, but a ton of new white ones have come out to play..

The WWs seem to be doing just fine!! Kinda weird in a way, but I think they're the same pheno, as both of them look nearly identical, except one of them is shorter and seems like it's lagging the other by about 4 or 5 days, even though they sprouted the same time and have been growing steadily since..

Looks like it's getting crowded in there!! From what I've read, the AKR is a relatively quick finisher, so I'm thinking it should be done by the end of November, with no other screw-ups, and the WWs should be done by the end of December, if all goes as planned.. That would be a 13-15 week run on the WWs..

And a strange twist of fate today: as I was cutting up a bud to smoke, the scissors hit something weird.. A seed?!

Now.... To me, that's a good sign, although a lot of folks would think otherwise.. To me, it came from a feminized mother plant, therefore it is a feminine seed, which means, after I finished cutting up the 3-ish gram bud, I had 5 viable and 1 white and shriveled seeds. I still have quite a bit of the Zambeza JH left to smoke that is still in bud form, so I may have some more seeds to look forward to.. Build my stock!!! The taste is pretty good of this strain, and I know if I did a better job drying and curing, it'd probably be some of the best tasting/smelling bud I've encountered.. It definitely does the trick though!!

Congratz on the harvest man. I would rep slap yuh, but it seems like I have not spread the love enough since I last rep slapped yuh. Sucks to hear about the AKR man. AKR is a deliteful strain. Im positive you will still get some good smoke of her man. Cannabis Hemp is a hardy plant my friend.

Drying/curing seems to be just as delicate a process is,as growing some fine cheba.

Cheers my friend. :tiphat::Sharing One::Cheers:

Here are a couple pictures of the AKR from yesterday's watering.. It's the only one of the 3 that isn't on the automatic top-feed, so I hand-feed her every day.. I was unaware that AKR had purple traits in its lineage, but I guess this one does?? Or is this thing dying?? lol At any rate, some of the leaves look very rough, I'm guessing they'll never bounce back, especially the ones with some damage from the 4-day drought.. All of the new growth looks very healthy and vigorous and the buds are starting to fill in.. I can't quite place the smell, but it's starting to get stinky!!
