New Grower G14 and AKR

I think they try to hide it honestly with all the organic craze but if you go on there website it says starter fertilizer for usa, wouldn't want to buy it in Canada that is where it has the 9 month fert that type is trash and that is the negative reviews you will read, this stuff just enough to get it started 2 to 3 weeks most likely 3 weeks. With the nutes I have always gone light and I contribute that to a lot of my success, these autos really don't like a lot of nutes and a lot of it is commercialism same with rebuying soil especially soiless mixes like the pro-mix, roots organic and coco unless you have bugs in it or mold there is no point there are people reusing soil from the 70's and many medical users that are older broke hippies doing the same thing.

I used that stuff, loved it, I think it was HP?, I got it from amazon and it was BIG. I loved it, it did have nute's in it, there is just to many different kind's! Good luck--:jointman:

Do you reuse your soil?

@rick-j Yes I have two plants growing in reused soil ammended with earth worm castings. In the future I will just presoak the soil before planting with a nice tea to get the nutes back in. Makes sense to reuse it, you don't see people dig up all there garden to put more dirt in every year they just add nutes to the top.

I don't know guys, I just did a cursory look on Amazon and it said, "Contains a slow release fertilizer that feeds for up to 9 months ". "Contains; Canadian sphagnum peat moss, peat humus, perlite, limestone, slow release fertilizer, Mycorrhizae Premier Tech.". That's the US version.

And I looked at their website because I wanted to know the NPK values but it doesn't list them. But it does list the difference between the Canadian version and US version. The Canadian version uses "Coir / coconut fibre (*Canada only)" and the US version uses "Polymer Gel (**USA only)". I assume that's for water retention but I'm not sure.

Pro Mix HP, BX and MP all have the Mycorrhizae but only the Premium claims 9 months slow release ferts.

A water only soil would be something I'd be interested in. Maybe add some bloom nutes during flower.

@Time It is the amount of the same fert used that makes it last longer. The canadian type isn't sold in the us at all the us version has only a starter amount if you look on there site. It is not really a hot soil there is a guy that even adds nutes at seedling stage on youtube that has great success with it although I wouldn't add any the first few weeks, a lot cheaper than coco and some say it even holds water better coco is better cause no nutes but this stuff is like 14 bucks for 2 cubic ft and is available at any lowes or menards it's more of a convienience and price thing is why I suggested.

Also you don't want to use the 9 month pre fert soils they will burn your plants up in seedling stage if you want something water only look into super soils Mephisto will sell you the stuff to mix in to make supersoil if you email them or there are a lot of recipes online.

I think the biggest thing you need to consider is PH. Is this a soiless medium? What you go in at could be pivotal in the outcome. Have you researched this soil on AFN? Answer all the questions you have now so your not scrambling later. I think using other experiences with it will help with the expectations.

It is soiless and yes ph will need to be watched and ppm ideally although my roots organics is soiless and have never worried about ppm only ph. Pro-mix is well respected in the grow community.
