New Grower G14 and AKR

@Time It is the amount of the same fert used that makes it last longer. The canadian type isn't sold in the us at all the us version has only a starter amount if you look on there site. It is not really a hot soil there is a guy that even adds nutes at seedling stage on youtube that has great success with it although I wouldn't add any the first few weeks, a lot cheaper than coco and some say it even holds water better coco is better cause no nutes but this stuff is like 14 bucks for 2 cubic ft and is available at any lowes or menards it's more of a convienience and price thing is why I suggested.
Also you don't want to use the 9 month pre fert soils they will burn your plants up in seedling stage if you want something water only look into super soils Mephisto will sell you the stuff to mix in to make supersoil if you email them or there are a lot of recipes online.

I did look on their site. https://www.promixgardening.com/en/product/detail/promix-premium-potting-mix

The Premium potting soil, both the US and Canadian version, have 9 month ferts listed in addition to the mycoactive stuff. The only difference is the Canadian version uses coco and the US version uses polymer gel.

  • With MYCOACTIVE technology to stimulate vigorous growth for greater stress resistance, larger root system for increased nutrients, water uptake, bigger, healthier plants
  • Enriched with a specially formulated plant food that gradually releases nutrients for up to 9 months
  • Water less often with the included Coir / coconut fibre (Canada only) or Polymer Gel (USA only) that increases water holding capacity

@Time It's confusing I only knew about it cause I researched it a lot. There were some posts on here from a long time ago and people seemed really interested in it even the reg promix guys but not many tried it although the guy on youtube does great with it and a few other people did well too. Some of the other promix's are better it's just a convienence and price thing sense you can get it local the other ones usually only at grow shops.

You can also get black magic soil at home depot it is expensive but great stuff.

Yeah, I knew people were using BX and HP but it's soilless and I've never checked it out other than reading peoples grows. I have no interest in soiless. Amazon said the Premium All Purpose has 9 months slow release ferts and my search for Premium All Purpose brought up the Premium Potting soil and I didn't notice they were different.

If it had usable 9 months ferts to make it water only(simple) I'd be interested but it doesn't. Should be good for Boog though.

Update on my day 39 girls. Gave them a feeding of half strength photo plus. 3 ml of bio bloom. Cant seem to find what a full dose is so not sure of the strength. So i been doing 1.5-2.5 this is most I've given with 3. And also 1/8th dose of big bloom. My ppm mix was 258 going in. Coming out of one was 578 other one was 781. PH going in was 7.1 coming out was 6.2... So not sure if I should stay going in at 7.1 or try 7.5 next time. Damn fox farms lol.

@Time it's all good wasn't trying to sell you on it or anything I know you have your own medium :d5:just explaining the stuff is decent. Just remember 9 months of chemical ferts is a lot different than an ammended super soil for one thing you would have 6 months too much nutrients as an auto takes 3 usually max it would be like fox farms tripled for nutes and I don't recommend anyone growing in that. The super soil you mix in all your nutes into reg potting soil or you could do the same in some other mixes but it is all natural stuff like bat guano, worm castings etc it is more to start but cheaper in the end cause you half to buy all the stuff up front at once.

Depends on what the npk numbers are for the slow release nutes. If they are better for canna than MG, it would sure be usable even for nine months. You can use Mega Crop start to finish, why not a slow release formula? And nine months just means you could re-use it and grow three plants, like your doing now.

I'm a lazy grower and won't spend more time than I need to so when you said the soil was good and I saw on Amazon that it had time release nutes I got all excited. Turned out Amazon was wrong and I read the wrong mix on the promix site. Buying a ready made soil without the yuge canna price markup would be ideal for me.

Maybe one of the nute companies(greenleaf) will develop a time release nute pellets I can add to my medium so anybody with a pot and a light can stick a seed in and water it once in awhile. Time release works great for tomatoes and houseplants. Maybe they're waiting for Miracle Gro to beat them to it.

ill keep you guys updated. I've read good things. Since ill have full organic nutes bloom and veg im going to continue on my same road. About day 16 ill use veg nutes and 3 weeks in ill do cal mag. I'm not too concerned. I used sta green soulless mix long time ago. And two buddies used it. Had slow release with the little green balls in it. Fed 9 months I/we still used a feed water feed and had no problems like I'm having with this ocean forest.
