Indoor Frogster Autopot Grow:- Auto Blackberry Kush & Auto Mazar

First let me say :welcome: to everyone here, Thanks for all the good wishes, Karma etc. Very nice to meet you all Have fun, chirp in, and enjoy the ride....

Putting a msg on my profile wall is a shameful attempt to get more views.

Worked a treat didn't it Frogster !!!!! :crying::pighug:

Yep, I'm really putting pressure on myself to deliver - especially as I am a Newbie with just one indoor grow under his belt... But, what the hell, life is short, and still so much to see, do, experience, learn, try, etc... So lets try everything new at once...

I am as keen as mustard to learn, I have undertaken a reasonable amount of research, purchased decent equipment. I am also resourceful.

However, I acknowledge there is no substitute for "Experience" (I am woefully lacking there) - So a few messages/posts later.... and now I have some (if not all) the most respected & revered members watching over my shoulder.... Oh there's my lacking "Experience".....:woohoo1: Learning..... Together....

How can this fail ?
So, more importantly..... if I pull this one off, Do I get a Badge :toke: :pass: (I was told to ask that)

Well, the Karma you all sent finally worked on that stuck Auto Mazar seed.... popped it's head 4 days after the others. I will plant her up and put her in the tent with the other 3.

The two replacements I dropped in water have tap roots as well.... Dutch Passion have maintained their 100% germination rate for me.... So, I have too many plants !

Will worry about that later.... for now, Welcome baby.

New Tent set up now finished, with upgraded fans filters an other stuff, to better the environmental control.

Did a 12 Hr soak test to check it out... Set Temp for 28Deg and Humidity for 52%, fluctuated a bit as I am adjusting positioning for humidifier etc, but looking as though it might well work!

Yes, I am happy at this point in time.

Day 2

I have decided to start the day count here at 2... Its from when they where put in the tent, sort of balances all the different germination times out (some a few days older, some a few days younger). But it will give a good idea within a few days of overall age.

So the two replacements (that I didn't need after all) have been potted into small jiffy pots with Canna Pro Soil/extra perlite mix, after the tap roots emerged strong from water soak in a glass after 2 days.

The line up (with the additional plants now) are:-
  • 3 x Dutch Passion Auto Mazar
  • 2 x Dutch Passion Auto Blackberry Kush
  • 1 x Dutch Passion Auto NightQueen
All plants will eventually be in autopots, with airdomes, and turned on as appropriate when the roots start to develop.

Morning Ladies....

To continue from the above post about Environment Control...

Over the last grow I decided that I need to reduce the amount of environmental variables and gain more control.

I think it's all about control.... Now, I cant change the outside weather, but I may be able to design a better "Indoor Control Unit" for the Tent environment.

So, in addition to the "Evolution Temp / Fan Controller" I have designed and build this prototype...

Twin sensors in the tent decide what the ambient RH% is subject to the settings of the controller - The controller will react to either switch to:-
  • generate humidified air and deliver it to the plants (Variable speed of fog flow - set at 55 in this pic)
or
  • dehumidify to the desired setting.

Over the last few days, with very changeable weather it has been a good test, the results can be seen below, with a 36 Hr soak test showing a variation of just 0.25 degrees from average temp and 3% variation in average mean RH%.

Or to the non technical.... Pretty Darn Good !

I have concluded some more test with the new Environmental Control Unit. This was a live test.

I decided that as everything looked to be working fine and holding Temp & RH at the lower end of the RH scale... I would push the envelope and ask it to Raise the Humidity but keep the same temp 28 Deg in the grow room. This is the ACID Test... I believe, Holding Temp but changing RH is a toughie!

Dialed in 70% RH.... and it went straight up. Hit 70%RH.... Blipped the dial and it adjusted.... Temp remained stable at about 28Deg
Dialed in 72.5% RH.... Spot on. Blipped the dial and it adjusted again....
Dialed in 75% RH.... Spot on again. As before.... This is more than enough for me..... I don't think I want to have more than that in the growroom.
Dialed in 55% RH as this is what I want for now... Dropped straight down...

The controller adjusts and switches whatever is needed between Humidity / Fog or Dehumidify, Fans are switched to control the Temp.... all this works together meaning (in theory) I can have finer control of what the plant wants at any time of it's life and supply it.

So.... What does it mean?.... Perfect Environment Control over both Temp & RH .
Should result in better Plants.... Better Bud..... Better Smoke.... and ultimately a Happy Camper!

Oh..... This is what I mean by Cool, Humid Fog.
