Yeah, that's been my max for flower for quite a while now.
I seldom press flower anymore, though. The buds that I keep as flower are just too pretty to squish! Usually now when I press flour, it's because I have some pretty powerful girl and I wanna see what the rosin is like.
And the funny thing is it's kind of based on laziness. If a girl's buds turn out to look like they're gonna be a pain in the ass to trim up to get a decent looking bud, I'll just Fresh freeze and then dry Ice shake that girl! Or like in the case of Walter White, where her buds just did not form up well because of the tiny light she was under. The buds were just too light for my taste. I'm all good with that too! Holy crap that is good live Rosin!
The one thing that I am doing now for both flour and pressing hash, is a COLD prepressing of my pucks. I think it helps with heat transfer and it does seem to increase production and quality at the same time.
The only difference, other than temperature,, in my procedure for pressing flower and hash, I start at 125 and ramp to 175 or 180 Max. With the pre pressing, it usually starts to flow about 30 to 45 seconds at the 125. And that is with minimal pressure and just up to firm resistance, Depending on the flow, usually around the minute mark, I will begin to increase the pressure and then set the max temperature. Again based on flow, I usually hold it for one minute after it reaches the final temp.
That's been rewarding me some beautiful light golden live Rosin!

Although it’s a convenient excuse as well, since the nerve damage in my spine causes my hands to go numb after a short while….. so long trim sessions are out.

I didn’t go all that high on the pressure with this….. about 700 mpsi. I did do a second press at 207 and higher pressure and yielded a darker caramel consistency product. It’s for sure dirtier, and will get saved for edibles, or just a rainy day haha.

Yeah, nerve pain sucks! I don't know what would be worse, having difficulty walking to get there or can't do a damn thing once I get there! We all deal with our different ailments the best way we can. I've broken both arms and absolutely smash the hell out of my right hand, but surprisingly did not break a bone. It looked like Moe of the Three Stooges after he smacked something and it swelled up. The damned xray tech had to come back and take more pictures 'cause he couldn't believe I didn't have a broken bone! That only bothers me when it's super cold. Yeah I have a tough time sometimes just getting around, but hand pain would just absolutely piss me off,

Almost four months later I walked out of that damn hospital. It took me a year and a half of physical therapy to get back to full duty. That youthful vigor will only last so long! Getting old can suck!!!!!

I’ll have to give her a stem rub next time I’m in there….. the amalgamation of odors inside that tent right now is insane…. And about the only way to detect individual odors is to give a stem rub..
