hi guys i joined the site a few days ago and have been hooked ever since:toke: im planning my very first grow in the next couple of weeks i have a small cupboard that iam going to use, its around 1m2 and 2m in height, would it be ok to squeeze 2 plants in there, iam in the process of looking at led lights but iam unsure what 1 to go for and as they are quite expensive would love some feedback on this.keep up the great work with the site guys really great info and i loved jtangs led/ airpot grow

Hey Larky,

Welcome to the site bro great place to be a lot of very helpful people here willing to share there knowledge and tricks with everyone. I have the same grow space as yourslef except mine is only 1m in height. I'm planning on growing 2 plants in my grow space in the process of the build at the moment, don't know a whole lot about LED's but would be worth it in that grow space as heat will be a major thing so you wuld have to have good ventilation. I myself have bought a 250w cfl and I am constructing an adjustable rig with 6 extra lights for extra side lighting which can be moved up as the plants grow. There is plenty of advice and experienced growers here and there is awlays someone that specialises in a certain area always willing to give advice. Best of luck dude if you have a questions give me a shout i'll try help you as best as I can.

Happy growing dude

:peace:

cheers for the reply, that was one of my main reasons for going with the leds and i think they are a bit easier on the old leccy bill lol.

No problem dude I would love to get some leds but the good ones are exspensive cfl's are cheap and easy to us and some of the lads here have gotten some amazing results from using cfl's check out a fella called Noods his grow of cream carmel and 2 dragons is just crazy all with cfls. My grow has only cost me €180 to build and there's nothing like making a DIY grow box.

Welcome to AFN. Just so we're clear, 1m2 is 1 square meter, correct? If so, then you've got room for a lot more than 2 plants. Nine plants would fit in that sized area. Please verify that for me and then we can get into some specifics on how best to light it.

well lets start again my measurements were a bit out it dawned on me when you said 9 plants lol my cupboard is 0.5m x 1m and i can raise or lower the height of the room to suit. i was just about to order thishttp://grownorthern.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage-ask.tpl&product_id=25&category_id=1&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=75

For that sized space I would recommend going with a 240 watt Blackstar over either of the 180 watt ones you linked to. The price difference between the 180 and 240 watters isn't all that much and it will be money well spent. Your box is big enough to grow 3 plants at a time and a 240 watter would cover that sized area very well. Those 240 watt Blackstars are well documented here on AFN. I use two of them myself. 2m on the height is fine. Also, don't forget about ventilation. You will need a good exhaust fan with a carbon filter to control the smell of the plants as it can get very strong in flowering.

thanks for the help that was my next problem, im going to go with 2 plants as this is my first ever grow what ventilation would you recommend for this? any other help or tips would be greatly appreciated.

a BIG OL HIGH to ya and welcome to AFN.

TOKE OUT
