Hey everyone

This is my first time on AFN and first time grower. Im looking forward to making a journal of my grows and look forward to any input from everyone threw the process.

Here is what I got going on so far, I have many seeds to grow that I purchased but to start off Ill being growing one that I see being grown often.

Seed
- Vision seeds auto flowering northern lights feminized
Grow tent
- Virtual sun 48x48x78
Light hood
- Sun system 250/400 Watt Digital
Bulbs
- 400watt 7500k ultra sun MH/ 400watt ultra sun HPS
Fans
- 4in Ecoplus inline fan pushing air into tent,6in Hurricane inline fan sucking air out of tent with a Phresh 400 Carbon Filter blowing the air to the outside threw a window vent, also have a 16in stand up fan inside tent moving air around.
Humidifier
- Using two humidifiers from my local Target retail store.
Soil-
Promix hp soil is self adjusted between 5.6-6.2 once soaked for a week
Pots
-5Gal buckets from lowes
Nutrients
- Using all Advanced Nutrients
Jungle Juice 2 part grow
Jungle juice 2 part bloom
Voodoo juice
Big Bud
B-52
Overdrive
Water
- Distilled water from the store adjusted to 6.0-6.5
Equipment
- Digital ph/ppm reader

I still have to get a portable stand up ac unit to help my tent stay in the 75-77F with a humidity at 60-70% rang when the light is on during the day and 10 degrees cooler at night before starting my grow should have one in a few weeks.

Process of grow 20hours on 4 hours off light cycle whole grow
1. Soak seed in glass of distilled water 6.0-6.5 ph for 24hrs then put on damp paper towel in dark tent. Once seedling pops then transplant into 5 gal buckets.
2. Set 400watt Mh light at 3 feet above seedlings for the first week give 6 cups just water each ever three days or as needed.
3. Stilling using 400watt Mh for week 2 move light down to 1ft 6in above plant give just 6 cups of water each every three days or as needed
4. Week 3 replace light with 400watt hps adjust light down to 12in above plant were it will stay for the rest of the grow introduce veg nutrients at half strength three days later feeding just water 6 cups each
5. Week 4 give plants second feed of veg nutrients at full strength three days later feeding just water.
6. Week 5 introduce bloom nutrients at half dose following 6 cups each ever three days
7. Weeks 6-8 bloom nutrients full strength followed by 6 cups of water each every three days or as needed.
8. Weeks 9-10 flushing plants giving each plant 15gals each once for each week.
9. Cutting plant down to dry then trim, harvest, ENJOY!!

This is the plan that I have for my upcoming grow if you have any input on what I should do different or if everything sounds good please let me know. I look forward to a good harvest!!

Welcome Aboard the Best Canna Fam

This seems really close to my first grow I got going on check it out if you'd like I'll be checking up on yours as well to compare notes. Welcome!

Wow, solid game plan and well thought out!

The only think I can see is the distance of the HPS from the plants at 12" during vegetation (or anytime really). I'm an LED guy so I can get that close. I don't know a ton about incandescents but I think they may get a bit to hot for that close of a proximity. That and it may be unnecessarily risky to be planning to get to full concentration on your bloom nutes.....Could be strain specific and the NL can take it.

Welcome! Nice Planning!

Week 3 replace light with 400watt hps adjust light down to 12in above plant were it will stay for the rest of the grow introduce veg nutrients at half strength three days later feeding just water 6 cups each

12 inches is way to close for HPS bro; you're going to fry the crap out of those plants.

It's kind of hard for me to see in that picture; do you have any duct connecting to your hood? If you're running it open air, you definitely want to take more precaution with the distance of the light over the tops of the plants (that goes for MH too.)

Here's a good rule of thumb (and you'll see it suggested often on here for HPS/MH lights:)

Take your hand and place it over the top of your plant with the back side of your hand (not your palm) facing up towards the light and hold it there for several seconds. If it's uncomfortably warm, it's pretty likely it's too warm for the plants as well. If you want to see how much of a difference it makes, stick your hand under your light at 12 inches using this test, then move the light up (or your hand down) in 2 inch increments and test again. You should be able to tell as you go up every couple inches a difference in heat intensity on your hand.

18 to 24 inches isn't a bad guideline for flowering, but your environment and the plants will really be telling you what they like and don't.

Also, looking at your other pictures, I would change up your duct work a bit. Air flow hits some major reductions when you start throwing 90 degree bends into a duct system (it also increases air turbulence, which increases the noise.) There are also air reductions depending on the length of the duct.

Do you just have the two ports in your tent near the ceiling? Any near the floor?

If it were me (in my opinion,) I would work on eliminating some of those 90 degree turns you have to maximize the airflow and reduce the amount of duct you have extra hanging out (that picture with your window shows a LOT of duct bunched up in those 90's.)

Hope that helps bro, best of luck to you! :Sharing One:

Thanks you everyone for your helpful information I will be correcting my duct to take out those 90s and I do have a open hood light and I have a 4 in inline fan blowing air from the ac vent from my house into the tent until I get my stand alone ac I do have a 6 in opening on the bottom along with a 3 in and some side flaps. I'll be sure to upload photos as my grow goes on should be starting a few weeks.

Wlcome aboard. Looks legit man. Looks like you got some decent space to get those NL to bloom some nice buds.
I dont got to much advice to give. So, Im going to hang around and see how your grow progresses. =) :karma:

Alright everyone I got everything I need to start my grow and I re did my duct work to take out the 90s as best as I could. I will be posting pics in a few days. Check back for future updates.

I am on day 100 on a vision seeds northern lights autoflower. She is finishing nicely, fan leaves yellowing quickly, buds fattening up, and smells like a spilled spice rack. Quite a bit longer than I expected, but is going to work out quite nicely. Good luck on your grow, I will be lurking around watching.

Alright everyone got the set up and running and man that ac makes a HUGE difference those plants are going to be nice and cozy in their new home. I eliminated the 4 in inline fan from the way I had it set up before with the ac blowing in cold air my 6 in inline with the carbon filter is working great with each other. I'm looking at a temp of 75-76F° and Humidity is about 50-60 with the light on. I have the seeds germinating and will be putting them in the 5 gallon pro mix hp in a few days will let you all know what the soil is ph at.here are some new photos and many more to come if you have any input please let me know thanks and hope you all enjoy
