I dont really have much of a comparison since this is my first grow, but i started out with blurple then switched to a quantum board huge difference from what i can tell you can get 135W QB from HLG for $190 shipped i think they may have cheaper ones as well, even a few on Amazon. im not 100% sure how many watts you will need

Oh im all about my hlg! But if hes trying to save a buck id say look at the mars.
If budget isnt a worry i totes would 2nd the hlg quantum board!

Check out the Autocob (I own six) at www.cobshop.net. Low electrical draw (only .49 amp), quiet (no fans), small and easy to move, low heat throw, bright as the sun etc etc. 2 will work in a 2x2. I suggest that you go with 1 plant for your first grow. Garner some experience before adding, making changes. Try very hard not to get too handsy with the plant.

I use Phresh carbon filters and Vortex inline fans. Just make sure that the filters cfm matches, or is higher than the inline fan cfm. Open a bottom of wall sock/screen for incoming air. Opposite wall send the ducting out of tent by using top of wall sock, or the ceiling sock if opposite.

Buy a ph device. I am using the Apera PH60 right now.
Buy a usb cam or pocket scope for checking trichomes near end of harvest.
Buy a 6" clip on fan to move air in the tent. Point it to blow over the top of plant. It will help promote stronger stems. I don't use my clip on fans for the first week or two.

I think they are all DIY except the bigger ones like the 550 etc, but it was very easy to put together.
Just a FYI for anyone who might care i just seen they have the 550 V1 for $599 "refurbished" save $200 though

if i chanced it and grew 2,would it be better to grow 2 of same strain or 2 different ones.All the seeds i bought grow roughly the same size and flower the same time,so they say anyway.thanks

"so they say..." the choice is really up to u...jus keep in mind that even full sisterz can end up growin wildly different from each other, lol ppp
