first time grower,lost

Hows it going,
Im new to growing,ive never grown any type of plant.just bought a 2.2x2.2x5ft tent,n lights and royal gorilla auto from RQS and good soil,that is it.
im fairly lost concerning lights,carbon filter etc.was thinking optic 1xl or some other cree cob light? In Ireland so heat no probs

hey @danm248 and to afn! plenty o' great & knowledgeable peepz here that will help ya get dialed in, fear not what kinda soil is ur "good soil" & what'z in it-? are u gonna do jus one to start-? would be best me thinkz, especially in that size space...but that'z jus me own 2 ctz & take with salt plz :smoking: otherz will chime in

Cheers,looking forward to learning.ha,my good soil is from from my farmer mate, soil that he has composted and says its grand for the job,i have no clue whats in it.Im open to any light suggestions,i was going to throw 3 of them in together and LST and see what happens,but i have no idea what im doing really

mmm, 3 would def be a squeeze mate and jus a tip -> lst is what makez em really bush out, me know from current experience, haha and ya, compost soil is alwayz good and btw, me tryin to get @Boradan in here from ur neck o' the world but he'z bein shy, lol ppp

I'm New so i may be wrong but 3 and LST i think will be to much ( maybe not ) I have 1 plant in a 5 gallon and am doing LST and it takes up lots of room, I started in a 2x2x5 and quickly realized it was to small so i got a 3x3x7 ( 40inch x 40inch x 80inch ) and just a few feet can make a huge difference

yeah,i got excited today and ordered it,then realised could have gone little bigger after i measured it out on the ground,we all live and learn i suppose.

You could do 3 in that space if you kept the pots small. Would not be an issue.
Regarding the soil, I have no idea. I am a Water Baby. No idea if your soil would be 'too hot' or not for Auto seeds.
For Lighting, I would go with COBs. You could get away with a single 100Watt COB in that tent - Something like THIS although that one is rather expensive and you can self-build for a lot less.
Be aware though, that COBs produce less heat than HPS lights, so you may possibly need to supplement the heat with an oil heater or something, depending on your tents' location.

Rapidled has that 100w cob, runs about 200 us, they also have a 50 or 55w for about 100 bones.
Mars hydro is another option, and an afn fav! You can get some good bang for your buck there!
