New Grower First time grow with 'Early Miss'. Photo and time lapse video:-)

I agree on the 400w, it's plenty of power for the space and the heat won't be as bad. The fungus gnats should go away fairly quickly if you let your plants dry out for a few days, if you still have a problem a mild hydrogen peroxide solution should clear out the larvae. Good luck!

Awesome, thanks! Hopefully this works. I checked and didn't see them again...put out some apple cider vinegar after attempting to crush one of them between my fingers in frustration. I think I got the bugger! :D

Ahhh! I've been reading up on the light cycle thing....can't decide what to do. Should I leave them on 24-0? They don't seem to be growing as fast now. Or should I switch to 20-4....or more? Will this speed up the flowering?

Hi, Star :) I ran one grow of auto white widow under 24/0, and the next at 20/4. I noticed that the 20/4 plants seemed less stressed, nothing in particular, but they just seemed happier. There's a bunch of opinion on whether a plant needs a rest. My opinion is that a little down time is a good thing. I'd recommend 20/4. It doesn't slow down maturing, from my experiences, and less stress is ALWAYS a good thing! Best to you!

Most here, myself included, are of the thought that 18/6 actually does produce better than 24/0. I've tried 20/4 and 19/5 even, but they just seem to like and feel better with 18/6. The dark cycle does appear to be important, even to autos, because some natural business is conducted during the darkness. But I see you're crunched for speed, and I don't know if they would in fact be faster with 24, someone with more experience will have to answer that. I know it seems like logically they would, but perhaps and probably not lol. I know I read one report of a grow going slower even on 24,but that memory is vague lol so don't rely on that, just throwing it out there.

Thanks guys. Yeah there seems to be so many different opinions on the hours. I may play it safe and try the 20-4 and see how they respond. My timer comes in tomorrow!

They have really kinda chilled out a bit....no cool time lapse vids to show lately:-(

Also, they really started to droop and look terrible, so I HAD to give them water today. Within a couple of hours they perked back up again. I also caught one of those darned fungus gnats....right between my fingers. He was intact enough for me to identify. 100% fungus gnat. Awwww drat!

On the up side, I haven't seen anymore. I wonder how many larvae there are:-/

I agree with the above opinions. I'm a new grower, but I do think that once the veg stage was over, and I switched from 24/0 to 19/5, the plant seemed a bit less stressed. This time around, I am gonna try 18/6. IMO, the rest helps.

Ok awesome, will start with 20-4 and probably go down from there....! It DOES make sense....

So HPS came in today....I had a hellova time putting everything together so it all fit, and so that the plants got light from each fixture! The temp went up a bit but I got it back down to 82-83. Is that too much?
And is this total overkill? LOL!

star make sure your not getting that UFO LED to hot under the HPS..

looking good! at this point you can loose the CFL lights.

Thanks! Ya, I was worried about it heating up the other lights. Will double check now since it's been on for some time:-) Is it overkill with the CFL? I guess I can turn them off and leave them in there in case I have to move them to the sides. Serena is really bushy and I may need to move them down in the future for her....
:D
