New Grower First time grow, wish me luck.

Hi guys, have just started my first ever grow, and I thought it'd be a good idea to document it all on here. I've been a long time lurker - trying to soak up as much information as I can for a successful grow. I've spent the past couple of months acquiring the bits and pieces I need and I finally germinated a couple days ago and I'm under way.

My soul purpose for posting a journal is to seek as much feedback/criticism/tips/advice/whatever as I can get, so please, go for it - I'm all ears.

So I will be growing in a 1.2m x 2.4m tent:
x2 Dutch Passion Auto Glueberry OG
x2 Dutch Passion Auto Mazar
x2 Dinafem Auto Cheese XXL
x2 Dinafem White Widow XXL

All in 5 Gallon Airpots, filled with Canna Terra Pro soil mix. I'll be using TaNg's easy feed schedule which I found on this forum. I will be monitoring my pH, and aiming for 6.5.

I have a 6"/150mm extraction fan/carbon filter setup with a 6" inlet fan. A couple of oscillating fans setup for air flow also, but to be used a bit later on.

After a bit of research, I decided to splurge out and buy two HLG 550 v2's. Pretty awesome light.
To start with, I'm hanging them 700mm above seedlings, dimmed down as far as they can go. Going to be a bit of trial and error I guess.

Here's a couple of photo's of the tent and lights to get things moving along:

Thanks for reading. I'll try check in as often as I can and fingers crossed she all goes well.

dude like kudos on the set up, you have done your research well my friend. Great genetics, one of the best light on the market and plenty of space to smash it out the park... give that grower some rep and a slap :slap:

pulling a chair up for this show... let me just get a little comfy

Beautiful Set Up Fams!!!
Sending some good vibes for your grow:vibe:

Looks good, raising the lights may help the stretch a little.

Hey man, thanks heaps for the kind words, Appreciate it.

Thanks homie :d5:

Yea, I've been trying to look at other grow journals with these lights and other qb's. Some guy who done the par test and everything had the lights cranked up as far as they could go, 36" (900mm) above and he had good results, so I plan on turning the bad boys up and lifting them up a couple hundred mil. Thanks for the suggestions man, keep em coming!

Hey fellas, Just got home from work to go check on the girls and see how they're doing. Didn't feed, soil was kind of moist-ish underneath. I believe I have been over watering. After having a close look at my plants, I noticed a couple of things. Was hoping someone in the know could help me out. There's a bit of yellowing on a couple of the plants, but the one that has been over watered for sure, hasn't done this - just curled over a little bit - hence why I'm a little confused.

Heres a couple of snaps.

Is this caused from over watering? Or something else. I've been feeding it 1mL/1Litre of Sensi A/B Bloom, so I didn't think it would be Nitrogen related. Or maybe I'm just concerned over nothing lol. Temps are controlled at between 24-26celsius, humidity is pretty low at 30%~ (I'm workng on this) Also a large fan blowing air around, not directly on plants but probably half way up the grow tent. All leaves are pretty dry, but I put that down to low humidity. Sorry for rambling, But as always, any help appreciated

edit: I should also note that I have kept track of my pH at 6.5 Checked soil and water.

Cal mag required maybe M8 but hopefully someone with more experience than me will look in and help! I'll say this though.. that wee plant already looks much better for having gone a day without the usual 500ml feed :d5: so as I mentioned earlier I'd either water less per day or water your 500ml but make sure they soil has dried out a good bit before the next watering. Had the rest of them perked up after their non feed day??

Yeah, I definitely think they're better for it. Looking good, bar this little bit of yellowing I noticed. That one Glueberry which was over-watered still a little droopy, but I think he's starting to come good. I forgot to mention also, I am also using CaliMagic. I put in .5mL to 1L. Maybe I should run 1mL>1L...unsure. I think I'm going to take your advice, and just water when the soil is dry, as opposed to feeding daily. Be the safest way to do it for me I guess.

Upping the Cal mag to 1ml per litre certainly won't do any harm M8.

looks like 2 things to me, possibly a little under fed or the beginnings of a mag diff... nothing to panic over and easily fixed

Up your feed by a little. Add cal/mag into the feed with every feed if your not already... another thing you can do which is very cheap is folia spray with epsom salts (7g per ltr). I do this once a week in veg and my plants flipping love it. I find its the best way to stay on top of magnesium at the start of the grow under LED's (we have the same light...HLG for the win)... folia spraying is one of the best ways to fix a diff's quickly (especially in soil) and a must to build into your system.

On the watering thing, your in soil don't water that pot until you can lift it with one hand easily .... 5 gallons you say... that would be silly and you may put your back out... safety first bend those knees and two hands ;) ... the more you do it the easier it gets to tell the right weight for each pot size... Take note of what the leaves are doing at each stage of dryness and over this grow any many to come, build a mental picture of whats going on below the surface.
Timing that watering perfect is how to get the best out of soil even if you are watering all the pots at different times. I would often find one plant at peek feeding would need a feed every 24 -36hrs and another in the tent every 48 - 72hrs. That's using large 25ltr pots like your self

the more i look, pretty sure its a slight mag diff... Do the folia spray with Epsom salts, easy fix and your plant will love that once and week until they go into full flower.
