First Time Auto Grow(er) GDP and 9LB Hammer

Thanks, I hope it delays flower also because it just still seems pretty small. I'm just starting week 4 and I'll include a photo. I may have been under-watering it but I'm still trying to get the feel of watering a seedling in a 7 gal pot. Tell me what you think if you have a chance.
I did add some dry amendments week 1, watered week 2 and used tea in week three. You were spot on about the tea. That one thing made the biggest change in the plants appearance.:eyebrows: I should try the foliar spray, just need to find me a sprayer. Here are my questions for anyone who sees this:
Are you topping outdoors? Do you ever FIMM? LST? My understanding is that topping can be done with the faster growing strains but timing is crucial. You'll see from the photo I'm trying to open the plant up, I'm just wondering if it's advised outdoors. Also I hear that Autos tend to go longer when it soil outdoors....than they would indoors.
Should I even bother doing this for the big bright ball in the sky?

Also, should I re-ammend the soil now? Or do I wait to see if it shows deficiencies? I initially put dry amendments in prior to planting, I just know that it takes a while for them to break down.

Hey JA, You can top, Fim, supercrop, and do whatever training you do indoors outside as well. I am runningfour small auto strains outside and don’t plan on training any. However, when I run the photos later, I will top and train, so they don’t grow into 6 feet tall monsters. I am okay if they are 4 feet wide and four feet tall! Seriously, I don’t think you need to top small autos outside, since you shouldn’t be concerned about height or light penetration.

Some folks top dress every week, so there should be a problem there. Since we grow in small pots, it’s a good idea to keep feeding the microbes in the soil.

Hey Bro, no problem. I'm still trying to learn my way around this forum and you are one of the few people to respond so far. Anyways, you are doing exactly the kind of growing I want to do so I'm thankful for your input. I'll probably look to you for help if I can find you, hehe. I'm pretty much copying your style :cooldance:I'm already sold on the tea and I used bat guano for the first time today. I didn't realize that there were so many types. I added it and some worm castings and some Humic acid top dressed today and she got some good color.
I ended up started some free seeds to see if I could make it work. One Cookie Wreck and a Hindu Kush. I successfully used rockwool for the first time and like it but couldn't figure out how to water it in a 5 gal fabric pot. It actually took off and was ahead of Hindi when the sprinkler went off soaking half of it with very high ph water, really cold. It damn near killed it and I just couldn't save it. It was looking like a dwarf.....stunted already :nono: so now I'm down to one, the Kush and it's looking okay but small. I'm at the beginning of week 3 and it's a 3 in inch tall baby with pilots and one true set of leaves. I'm not really set up with good lights so they (it) are outdoors in the day and in at night. My germ rates are sucking already so I think you guys are right about Pacific Seed Co. So I have 3 seeds soaking and a 9# hammer ready to go into a rapid rooter tomorrow. I think I'll do better with that when watering in the early stage.
Do you use solo cups?
Rockwool, peat plugs, or right into the soil?
I'm not giving up on this, and it's harder than I thought it would be. :grump: So, I'll plant a photo just in case and keep plugging away. I think it will be a lot easier when the weather is ready !! I just couldn't wait.
Thanks GTG

Hey JP :toke: :pighug:
It looks like your getting it fingered out..
Trying to catch up on all the reading. Been busey with with both grows going.

So when I'm growing in soil I put the seed in soil n a cup. I don't use peat pots wrong ph. I've not used Rockwell? I use RootRiot and Hormix products mostly.

I red that your thinking of topping and femming your outside plant.
You should along with super cropping, LST, EST, manipulating your plant throughout the entire grow along with trimming manicuring all the time and manipulating give you the highest quality yield possible

Thanks for the info, I think I just needed you guys to tell me that. Once I tied it down and asked the question, it occured to me that the sun wasn't a light that I had to spread the auto out for. Ok, As for me, I've never grown an auto and never grown inside. I've been using a florescent 'mood' light and a CFL $20 grow light from the local hardware store to keep the seedlings happy. I like to FIM and LST the photos for yield, and like you say for size, and it's just fun. :woody:Ya man, she seemed to really like the tea. Yep, I'm off to untie her!

Okay, hehe, I'm off to tie her back up

... also use some Blumat to help keep the soil consistently moist. I do top water about twice a week to set the top dressing I use. ...

Are you using Blumat Juniors? When you topwater, do you do anything to the Blumats or do they just "pause" because there is enough water in the soil?

Thanks!

Yes, I was using them. Since I am home now due to the pandemic, and can water daily, I pulled them altogether for the time being.

I would just top water with them in there. They would just slow down or pause based on soil water content.
