Hello everyone!

I have a couple of questions concerning my first growth and I'd like to have the knowledge of long time growers and the such! :)

Here's my setup:

2x2x5 tent
MH/HPS 400w lights
3 gallon fabric pots
Fans etc

First of all, I would like to use this soil : https://www.gaiagreen.com/product-page/living-soil , but I am unsure if it would be ok to use on his own?
It seems to be preloaded with a bunch of nutes, not sure if the seedling would like it or not?

Also, would it be wise to start with only one plant to see if everything goes well and add another a week or two later?

I also will be using Green Planet 3 part nutrients (Grow,Bloom,Micro) but looking at the feeding charts of their websites, it says to start giving nutes directly the first week?
With the preloaded soil, should I wait 3-4 weeks before giving the plants any nutes?
This is the feeding chart : https://www.mygreenplanet.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/GP3-Feed-Chart_web.pdf

Also what is the difference between recirculating and drain to waste?.. Unsure which one to follow...

Thank you very much for reading this far and I hope I'll be able to start this growth soon! :)

@MaskedPlants the link to your "Living Soil" is being blocked by my anti-virus as a hacked and dangerous page? I am familiar with it from the past. I have not used it.
The nutrients you list are for hydroponics and you are proposing Organic Living Soil which are different growing styles. This is not a recommended approach.

In hydroponics you can have recirculating nutrients that run through the plants roots and back to the reservoir or you can fertigate to a run-off to waste. I run Hydro in rock wool with drain to waste ( my outdoor plants get the run-off).

In Living soil you do not fertilize the plants but feed the soil microbes that in turn feed the plant.

I would look at the Gaia Green All Purpose 4-4-4. You wont need it for a while because the living soil is rich. Be sure to use at least a 5 gallon pot with living soil, 7 is even better.

First of all, thanks for the answers!
Weird that it is showing up as a dangerous page as it is gaia green's own website.. No idea there.

I thought I would of been able to use those nutes as they were offer with the tent kit that I bought, oh well :(

So if I understand correctly a 3 gal pot would not be enough?

I will also make sure to check out the all purpose 4-4-4 by gaia green as it as been recommended also in a video I watched a while back! Any idea when you would start feeding the soil with it? I was thinking week 3 or 4.

By the way, I will be growing Fastbuds Auto Crack CBD 1:1 and Garden of Green's Auto Cookies'N'Cream!

You might want to tell them their web site has been hacked

You see that is the thing about growing Organic Living soil. Since you need to rely on the bio-sphere to produce the nutrients it must be large enough to do so. 3 gallons is not enough. Gaia says there is enough nutrients for 2 months but I would start at 1/4 strength after 4 or 5 weeks. @Proph is an organic grower and can better guide you through the process.

Any time you have a question tag me in by putting the at-mark in front of my name like i just did with you @MaskedPlants

:goodluck:

Ps you will be dealing with a lot of heat in that small tent with 400w HPS.

@Mañ'O'Green Oops lol! But I do have an electrical ballast that can control the amount of watts I send to the bulb! Should I limit it to 150w? I think this is the lowest setting. I will also make sure to buy 5 gal fabric pots before I start anything

Oh yes that will be vary useful. Learning to control your environment takes time because as you go through the yearly seasons how you respond will need change.

@Mañ'O'Green Quick question for you sir. If I use the gaia green living soil, would I be able to reuse it for another growth or do I need to use fresh soil and discard the one that was use before?
