Gratuitous baby pictures update. I'm a new dad, sorry.
Those are the twins, the NLs, working on their next sets of leaves this morning. They broke soil last Saturday, so this is their 1 wk birthday.
The Larry lemon and Alaskan purple sisters have grown overnight, but are still shy.
The soils for all 4 are still moist today. They'll all get a watering tomorrow morning, the 2nd for the twins and first for the sisters. I'll then be away camping until Tuesday, so they can grow in peace for a few days.
One of the northern lights twins seems to have stagnated. Saturday will be 2 weeks since they broke ground.
The Alaskan purple and Larry lemon are 1week old today and seem fine:
They'll all get water tomorrow. After the last watering the northern lights in the happy frog developed a little visible algae on the perlite. It didn't seem to bother them, but yesterday the one seemed to take off while 1 has stagnated. Of course, this is all relative to one another, as my seedling growth seems a bit slower than others I've seen here. I do think that I had both lights dimmed too much until Wednesday. I've turned them up since and all of the seedlings definitely seem to enjoy it, except the one. I think that also explains why they all look so leggy.
One of the northern lights has fallen well behind the other, but she still seems to be working on her newest leaves, so maybe she'll come around. I watered them Friday and they were getting dry this morning so I gave them some more water this morning. They were 2 weeks from breaking soil on Saturday (now Monday):
The Larry lemon and Alaskan purple are doing everything on the same timeline so far. Both of their cotyledon leaves turned yellow and their first leaves are droopy today. The NLs did the droopy thing too, so that doesn't worry me, but the yellow cotyledons is new. They'll get water tomorrow and morning and hopefully carry on fine. I'm thinking it doesn't really matter what happens with those leaves now that they have real leaves and are working on more.
I've picked up some Recharge and yucca powder to start watering with. The straggling northern lights has shown some signs of pushing through, so I'm going to stick with her and see how she does. Here she is yesterday:
And today after getting recharge for the first time:
Here is the northern lights that is furthest along. She got water with recharge ang yucca this morning:
Nothing really worth reporting on the Alaskan purple or Larry lemon. They're still just working on getting some leaves out. My seedling growth all around seems so slow compared to all the other journals here.
The slow lady looks like shes really starting to grow through her stall, but this morning she has some discoloration on one leaf. If this were pest damage, would it be this localized?
