New Grower First grow, Royal Dwarf, UK outdoor

Day 15: a rare double update (need to get my post count up to enter the outdoor grow comp [emoji16])

Brought dwarfy in from the garden around 8pm, figured I'd bring her in later by an hour each day then by Friday she'll stay out all night.

Reckon she enjoyed the dose of BioBizz grow and a nice splash of warm light from our nearest star. Seems to have gained distance between those nodes today, let's hope she chunks up a bit at the bottom and doesn't get too leggy though.

Got some dusty lighter green patches on leaves but I'm not gonna worry about that too much right now.

I poured the rest of the nutes onto a sunflower I'm growing and I swear that has grown more than usual today too [emoji3]

Day 16

Suprise suprise she grew a bit more while I was at work! Good ol dependable Dwarfy [emoji3]

Brought her in at 8.30pm and topped up with CFL for a few hours before bedtime.

The spot in which she'll sit at the weekend while the in-laws visit is pretty much shade free so she'll have light from sunrise to sunset. It's a bit exposed to wind but nothing that can't be solved I'm sure.

Would you stake the main stem if you knew winds might be gusty?

If you know its going to be windy, steaking might be a good idea. If you can manage to block the wind somehow, with like a piece of cardboard or something, that might be a good solution too. Looking good!

Thanks man.

It's going outside tonight and will be a permanent outdoor plant from now on as I could really smell it inside when I got home from work!

I thought I'd do this bit easily but seem to be getting worried going over all the pros and cons of places I can put it outside! Smelling it inside has got me wondering what it will be like outside and whether I'd be compromised.

Day 17: Last night under a roof.

Had such a busy evening I didn't stick Dwarfy outside in the end so she gets to spend one more night in the spare room (with door closed as it stinks! Will have to throw open all the windows before in-laws arrive on Saturday!)

I'm off to work at 5am so she'll go outside then and join a few pals on the deck until the weekend when I'll tuck her away somewhere more discreet.

She'll be in good company I hope:

Thanks man.

We're in our second year at our first home and I've really got into gardening now we have a space of our own. I love the way you can pretty much murder various shrubs and climbers in Autumn and then in Spring the magic happens and buds appear from what looks like a dead stick and grows into something beautiful again!

We've got salad crops, a couple of berries and lots of fresh herbs.

I've got a bonsai which I love and a couple of little ones that I'm training into bonsai.

Oh and I'm having a contest with a mate to grow a sunflower bigger than our children (we both had kids in the same month last year!).

Also lucky to have these beauties living in the garden....
