Outdoor First grow, late outdoor organic attempt

I like that you're organic and you put your plants in the ground,it's nice to choose a more natural or native approach to gardening,I do every time ,I'm just from the soil type of guy

Thanks. When you already have improved ag soil and drip emitters ready to go, it is a pretty easy decision to make:)

If it wasn't for automatic watering, everything I grow would be dead within a fortnight.

Mini update: It dawned on me I used chlorinated water for the worm casting tea, so I suppose another round done properly with fish tank water (the reason behind my name, I have a few) is in order.

Blueberry looks done growing and ready to put on some buds. I think I see a couple sugar leaves.
The other 3 look like they have a bit more stretch to go.

For all the Mephisto fans, there should be no surprise that the SODK is catching up quickly and will likely be the biggest plant, though CJ may very well try to go for the gold as well.

I tried to keep my expectations really low with these plants. First time grow, from seed, outdoors at the last possible second...
I did wonder if the whole idea for this grow was some latent masochistic tendency of mine manifesting itself.

Where am I going with this? Let's just say, expectations=exceeded:)

These plants are getting as big as I ever hoped they would, and it has been a ton of fun watching them.
Now, there is plenty of time for fall weather to destroy everything, but as for right now, I am very happy with these little plants.

Pictures soon.

Here we go. Not the best pics, but documents the size. Plants are at days 50, 48, and 37? Something like that.

I know I'm impressed ... we learn something new every day if we just keep pushing the boundaries ... plants love fish tank water !! How far north are you ?

Very nice ... :d5:

Thanks!

I'm in the land of the (relatively) free, aka Oregon.

We have similar weather to much of Europe. UK, Germany, France.
I'll put it this way, we can grow melons most years, but not without the right strain, luck and skill.

No you don't.

You live on the coast of the Pacific.

The U.K. is cursed by the Gulf Stream, which ensures we get more rain and cloud cover than anywhere else on the same latitude.

In the Pacific Northwest you get the best of most worlds, defined seasons, but clear roasting hot summers.

Yes, I'm jealous.

I had no idea my post would cause such controversy LOL

Point taken, and I revise my statement to:
Oregon has a climate very similar to the one I remember growing up in Germany. I surmise it is very similar to other European countries as well, such as France or the UK. However, it is quite possible someone with more first hand knowledge may disagree with my assessment. :)

Also, I wouldn't describe most of our summers as "roasting". But then, I am comparing to the East Coast and Texas, not the British Isles.

Plants look great FishDude, what are your average daily and night time temps there now? I'm on the east coast and we're hitting low to mid 30s some nights, others staying in the low 50s. Hope you can see these ladies all the way through I am sure you can in that greenhouse though!
