New Grower First Grow - GCS Bubble Gum and Cheese

So Bubbles didn't like the LST I went down to check on them this evening, and she had pulled the pipe cleaner loose from the binder clip. I'll take that as a sign to leave her alone. Her bud sites are starting to pop out nicely, and the odor is starting to ramp up in the tent.

The light tips on The Mayor definitely looks like light nute burn to me, so I gave her plain old pH'd water today, and Bubbles got the 4g/gal MC. I think I'm seeing the start of stretch, they both put on some additional height in the last 24h, so I'm hoping things get a bit more exciting now.

Confession time. For those of you that never read my introduction thread, I haven't toked up in about 9 years. So, shame of shame, I went ahead and dried those fan leaves from the defoliation, and decided to give them a shot. Yeah, it tastes like dirt weed, but you know what, I've got a nice little buzz going now, and no headache. The only real downside is that it's really making me want these girls to finish up so I can try the real fruits of my labor!

Going along nicely, they stronger than you think so don't fret about tieing her down now if space is going to be a issue.:naughtystep:

Your defoil was nicely done, not to much

:smokeit:i am a great believer in taking testers straight from plant no shame :greenthumb:

Yeah, I'm not really worried about smoking the fans. It's certainly not ideal, but it gets the job done. To be honest, if I had a stash set aside, I'd be far more inclined to save the fans for butter.

It just makes more sense to utilize as much of the plant as possible, beyond the time and expense that I've put in to getting this setup, I also feel like the plants deserve that level of respect. I know I'm anthropomorphizing a plant here, but that's my own personal viewpoint.

I like to use 100 % of my grows flower, hash, eddibles, oils n rubs , i till the old dirt n roots outdoors n use it for my outdoor grow n start the cycle over ive even used the stalks to weave hemp twine i use for tie downs. Good to see others respect the plant n the earth.

Day 34 update. I figured since I'll be out most of the day tomorrow, I'll do my big weekly update today.

Things are going mostly smooth, although I might be having some issues popping up with Bubbles. First the group shot:

On to The Mayor, she's really rocking it, the bud sites are popping up like crazy, she's bushing right back up.

Top view shows off the bud sites nicely:

There's probably another 10 under those to good size spots.

Is it creepy posting up bud porn when they're this young, almost seems a bit pedo to me :crying: :

On to Bubbles first for the bad, I'm noticing some rust spotting (cal mag deficiency?) on a lot of the leaves, she's also pretty droopy, she's been dry every evening, so that may be part of it, and she just needs to be fed more. I've also been adjusting my feed pH to 5.7-5.9 due to the high pH of the soil which was causing leaf curl/clawing earlier in the grow, so my other though is I need to bring that pH back up to help with nute uptake. My thought is to start adding calmag on payday, and adjust the pH up, what do you guy's think? Pics of the spotting:

Overall view of her, you can see she's really starting to stretch, but she's a bit droopy:

And one from the top:

(I think the difference in color between her and The Mayor is because The Mayor was taken under the LED and Bubbles was out side the tent with a flash)

She also had 2 side branches that were really stretching, and I suspect I'm going to run it to head room issues. So I decided to try and tie her up again to try and even things out a bit. We'll see if this holds up this time:

Let me know what you think about the spotting! And Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

ur plan soundz...a plan...to meeeee  have a thankful turkey day! :toke: ppp

Looking good path
Not sure about the rusty leaves,
Maybe she's just really thirsty/nute hungry
Happy growing and thanksgiving

Bubbles is still looking pretty rough, and its definitely getting worse:

The hell of it, she's still growing like mad, and eating well, as she's dry every 24 hours with about a liter per day. I've got calmag ordered, as well as some flower nutes (actually the whole FF trio) but those won't be here until Monday. I think I need to act quicker, as this just started showing in the last couple of days on a leaf or two, and has spread like wildfire. Everything I'm looking at indicates that it is calmag deficiency, so since my wife has to go out to the store, I've asked her to pick up some Epsom salt. I'll make up a 2% solution and foliar feed it at lights out (in an hour) and monitor the situation.

I know this isn't unusual going into flower, so I'm not freaking out about it, but it's really funny how it's hitting Bubble's so hard, and The Mayor is just plugging along, although she's only needing about half the watering frequency, every other day, and she's show the lightest amount of nute burn/ overfertilizaton. Same soil, same growing conditions, vastly different personalities. I think I'm going to have to mix up two feed solutions, with Bubbles getting full strength MC, cal mag and I'm thinking half strength flower nutes. And the mayor getting 3/4 MC and start with 1/4 strength flower nutes. Unless she starts showing calmag issues, but since she's further ahead the Bubbles, I think I'm in the clear there.

It's just really fascinating how different these two girls are.

yup, i went thru the "vastly different personalitiez" thing with my Harli & Teresa...u def have my sympathy, lol :rolleyes2: ppp

I hope the cal/mag fixes it buddy :goodluck:

The first autos I grew were just a mix pack,
Comes with 6 different strains from QCS
I loved seeing the difference between all the plants
It really is amazing
Their mix packs are unmarked which I was kind of disappointed by, thinking how the hell am I supposed to know what strain it is if I happen to really enjoy one...
Once growing them though, can scroll through their site and pick 'em out easy peasy
