New Grower First Grow - GCS Bubble Gum and Cheese

Thanks for the well wishes @420Forever and @DMHeights! I gave Bubbles a good spray down with a close to 2% mix of epsom salt and distilled water at just after 11am eastern and lights come on in about 15 minutes, so I'm hoping that gave her enough time to absorb it and dry out the leaves. Last thing I want is burning from water droplets.

I'll be repeating the process tomorrow, and then monitoring the situation. I've seen plants with leaves in far worse shape in other grow journals that still ended up with decent (by my standars at least) yields. I think I've caught this early enough, and like I said, it doesn't seem to have slowed her growth any, so I'm pretty optimistic.

I think that may be the biggest takeaway from this, you need to really pay attention to the plants throughout the grow, they will tell you what's wrong. Of course sometimes it can be hard figuring out what the root cause is, but in this age of the internet, you can diagnose those causes a lot easier. Add in resources like this forum, with all the super knowledgeable people, and almost any problem can be overcome!

She does look a little hungry but not bad do have have any tums around ur house? you could powder 1 up grind up a tomato and put some coffee grounds in it mixed with some water and feed em if ur lacking neuts... Black molasses is naturally high in cal-mag mix with water tums obviously has calcium in it that is available to the plant slowly the tomato has nitrogen and is has a good acidity to it coffee grounds are loaded in nitrogen and other nutrients. Just a thought.

Little weekend update. It seems the foliar feeding has helped. No real improvement on old leaves, but the new growth is looking much better. I got my calmag and FF trio, so I set them up with separate feeds. Mayor is getting (per gallon) 3g MC, 10ml Tiger Bloom, 60ml Big Bloom and 3ml calmag (Bloom City). Bubbles is getting almost the same, but 1 extra gram of MC and an extra ml of calmag. Tiger bloom and calmag is at the minimum on the bottle for flowering, so we'll see if they want it adjusted up or down over the next couple of days.

I did a little more lite trimming, just enough to open up the bud sites, and overall, I think they're looking pretty happy, even with the few ugly leaves on Bubbles

And from the top, I'm an LST convert, she's got way more bud sites then the Mayor:

I'm torn on cutting that one huge fan leaf at the top of the picture, it really isn't doing anything, but damn it's huge!

On to The Mayor, she's not much on stretching, but she's really starting to pack on the buds. I'm sure she's going to yield a fair bit less than Bubbles. She's just got the one main cola, and then four smaller satellites, but there's still a fair amount of smaller sites mixed in there, it's requiring lite trimming of 4-6 leaves every 3-4 days to keep them in the light. I'm thinking she might be ready for chopping around the end of the month going by the development over the last week to ten days. Obviously, I'll let the trichs be the judge, but I can already tell it's going to be a huge lesson in patience for me!

I know it's way to early for guesses on yield, but I'm thinking (ok guessing) around 1.5 for the Mayor and 2-2.5 for Bubbles. Don't know why I think that, but it's what's in my head. Like I said way back when, if I can clear an ounce or two between them, I call this a success, anything more is just icing on the cake.

And just for fun, a side by side of last Saturday and today (8 days difference)

I keep saying this, but it never seems like they're changing much, but then I put together one of these collages and it's amazing how much they change over a few days.

Any newbs reading this, any time you feel like nothing's happening, look at a pic from a week ago, and then pick your jaw off the floor!

Well, I just checked on the girls. New growth on Bubbles is looking healthy and green, so I'm hoping that starting the flowering nutes and adding the calmag is doing the trick. I'll still watch her closely (how could I not? I love these girls!), but I think I can step down from defcon 5.

Not much to report on Mrs. Mayor, she's just plugging along, doing her thing. Still getting taller and packing on the buds. They both got a liter of their feed again this evening. A little more leaf trimming on Bubbles since I found some budsites hiding in her bush (snicker). I'm definitely thinking I'm going to get a decent yield off of her, I've got 8 budsites vying to be top cola at this point. Part of me is regretting not trying up the Mayor, but I still got two more seeds to play with.

I'm thinking about making a colloidal silver generator, and early next year trying my hand at making some seeds. I'm budgeting about $5-600 from tax returns to set up a 4x2 or 4x4 with new lights for my primary tent and use the 2x2 for a breeding tent. We'll see how that goes.

Ouch, Grow bug bit you hard eh :crying:

Sounds like a good plan buddy, I hope it all works out
If you're looking for a tester...:eyebrows:

Yeah, the grow bug has bit me pretty hard! I'm like this on all my hobbies though, if I get into something, I go all in and try to learn every aspect of it. Of course, I also tend to burn out on pushing myself and just get into a routine after 6 months or so. This is a bit of a spendy hobby, but the returns are plentiful, I'll cover my expenses on the all the startup of this grow from the first harvest if I clear about 1.5 ounces between the two of them. I can double the amount of plants in a 4x2, so of I clear 3 zips on the first four plants, that's almost a grand in street value that I won't be paying. That'll cover the cost of the new tent and light, then factor in what I'll save in seeds, and it's a clear win financially.

In other news, Bubbles is looking pretty forlorn today, the leaves are super droopy. I think it's an overwatering issue/too much moisture. I gave them both a good feeding last night, and since the air was dry, I put the humidifier on. Then I smoked a couple of bowls, and completely forgot to turn it off. I've been having a real problem with this humidifier, it has a humidistat, but it ain't at all accurate. I'll set it for 50% and come in a couple of hours later to see it still running with the humidity at 80%. I don't know when it ran out of water, but the humidity was still at 48%. I really need to get an inkbird humidity and temp controller, to keep things more even.

So this evening, both girls were still heavy, and Bubbles is droopy as hell. Obviously no watering today, and we'll see how she looks tomorrow, a couple of pics.

An the Mayor, as you can see, she's not at all bothered, also I'm stoked to say that main cola is already about three quarters the size of my hand.
