New Grower First Grow: Flash Purple Mazar & 1 Seedsmans Northern Lights Fem Auto

DAY 13 Week 2
I hope so Glaucoma, thanks for checking it out.
So here I am at the end of week 2. Everything is going well temp 82, 59% humidity, sunny, gentle breeze. The plants seem to be growing well, though they are a bit short, week 3 is supposed to be a big one for growth right? The northern lights is still in the lead, but I have a mazar close behind. Though I suspect it may be male, maybe too soon to tell. I def want 1 male and I'd be okay with it being the strongest, good genetics I guess. The Northern Lights got a chemical sort of burn when a glob of soil on the leaves got wet, looks totally isolated. I'll have to be more careful.
So here's the suspected male:

Upon closer inspection tonight, I'm pretty sure the large Purple Mazar is a male, it has a few knobs where the other plants don't. I think I could see a silver hair on one of the other two, and the third has no sign, lets hope its a she.
The NL isn't showing anything, it is femmed so I'm hoping for a confirmed sign of a female for comparisons. Though all I see is troubles about them autoing. Its a good inch plus taller then the Mazars. I wasn't going to get all into LST but it is taller and being as I have one grow cab, if it has to go 12/12 to flower that means it will need to veg untill the Mazars compete. Is that possible or a good idea to let it veg that long if it comes to it?

I'm giving them some plain water tomorrow, its been about 2.5 days and the soil's kinda dry. Every 3 days seems to be the need at the moment. I may consider a 1/4 dose of veg nutes the following watering.
All and all I'm really pleased with the growth so far. Things are going pretty perfectly right now.

The plants got their first for real watering today. I did add 1/4 tsp grow big, I couldn't resist. I have good news. I have 2 out of 3 female Purple Mazars!! Exactly what I was hoping for. The northern lights is still a no show.
In other news the Ph of my run off was in the 5's again. I rinsed the water trays in case they're dirty and acidic. Next watering I'm going to flush it out a bit as per roadsidevendors advice. I'm still unclear about how to add the lime. It's probably my being stupid but... Do I add it to the top inch or so of soil and mix it around with my fingers? Or is there another method. Or should I make my flush water like a 7 Ph? Please advise!!

Nice savoy, I got a pack of purple mazar I'll be watchin' this grow. Just spread the lime evenly on the top layer of soil and water in. No worries mate

Had a crisis last night. It looked like my male opened up already. I think I moved the bastard just in time. I sprayed the 3 remaining lady's and wiped down the cab just in case.
I went to lowes for lime and all they had was "fast acting lime" not dolomite. The directions call for a tbs for a 12" plant. Think I'll start with a tsp and see how it goes. I understand the dolomite leaches in over 4-5 days so I guess less of the kind I bought is the way to go

Week 3 Day 21
The plants are really starting to take off these days! Two days ago I flushed them. I watered in two stages for the flush. I poured enough for decent runoff, tested the Ph, it was about a 5.5. I am using the liquid test so its a little subjective. I plan on getting a digital meter for the next grow. I sprinkled the lime (1 tsp per plant) on the soil surface and mixed it around, then poured a gallon btwn the 3 females to draw it into the soil. The male has been sequestered to a window on my 3rd floor with a paper plate around the base. They are all getting the faint smell of pot, but no smell outside the cab.
Heres the group shot:
This is the Northern lights. I think I can see some pistols starting to form, it could also be my imagination. I'm thinking about lst for this one since its twice the height of the other two. Its a monster!!!
Next is one of the Purple Mazars, they're both pretty much the same.
Here's some close-ups of the naughty bits, the first is the pistols on the Mazar, the second is the male Mazar from a few days ago when I freaked out and thought it had opened (but as of yet no pollen has dropped)

Great to follow your groww, it's so much more interesting that mine..
Great setup also, i got to get one of those wardrobes.. it seems that the plant develops exponentially with all that light and added reflections.. it's a nice way to grow and keep a low profile..
In comparison, mine is way under-developed.. I'm on day 13 and my plant hasn't yet reached the growth stage urs has shown on the 8th day, so congratulations!!
